OK just booked our flights to Atlanta

I guess we will have to find someone to give our tickets for Dervish, Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill at the Cedar in Minneapolis on March 9th.
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

Are the Florida dates still up in the air or is that not happening now? I haven't read the whole thread yet, sorry.

Florida is a pencilled-in festival date (Langerado) which may be announced separately.

House Of Blues in Boston...bad-ass. Can't wait to see the Pogues (once again) in a club-ish setting. Great choice.

Thanks for the info! And you are planning to be there if all goes well with you, right? I really hope so, as much as I'd also enjoy seeing James. :P

Any reason for changing from the Orpheum? I like the venue HOB but the staff there can leave something to be desired. Not that I'm complaining, I'll take any venue you want to appear in. 8)
it's a bit of a smooch-ah

Much as I love the new name, "sad in philly", I don't get to route our tours, nor does anyone else in the band. Our managers, agents and promoters do their best to put together a feasible itinerary incorporating all they know about geography, venue availability and profit margins. Honestly, it's nothing personal.

brilliant!! i'd not been checkin the forums for updates recently so it was great to find you're doing another tour. i've been in the US for the past three years and have been twice in boston (closest to where i'm at right now). but this time want to go to the dc one. either way, should be brilliant. will prob be the last pogues concert for me for years though since i'm heading back to Nepal next year. no band ever seems to make it to my part of the world!

Linky linky on the front page for pre-sale. And the other thread has been updated. And now this thread will be stickied and the other un-stickied.

It's also nice to see that it's no longer Too Damn Cold. :)

Can any of the Boston Medusans give me info on the House of Blues? Is it General Admission or seated. Thanks. :D

Update-I did a quick look and I see this is the new facility that replaced the Avalon complex. 2500 seat venue. If the venue will be GA, I would buy pre-sale,
but the last time I did pre-sale for the Orpheum, the seats were (relatively) lousy.

Can someone please clarify whether this posting on The Pogues MySpace website is erroneous??

" Wednesday, November 19, 2008

message for canadians

There were rumours we were going to play canada on our march '09 dates and unfortunately that's just what they were. sorry canada.

8:33 AM"

I received it this am, and it is on the myspace site.

It sure contradicts what is in the front page here announcing the concerts for Mar 2009, and what Philip was so kind to announce to us the other day, and of course DZM posting on the medusa sight.

thanks in advance

Ok, it does seem like the Canadian dates are not now going to take place, though it is likely they will at a later date. I have no further information at the moment, nor do I know why the cancellation has taken place literally 24 hours after our North American agent announced them. The USA dates are unaffected.

Yes I know, it's another fuck up from The Pogues. I'm sorry. We don't do it deliberately.

This is GREAT news... can't wait to see the fellas again in March. Has anyone had any success finding a seating chart for the House of Blues in Boston? Any idea what the set up is like?

thankyou Philip for taking the time to get this update out as quick as you have.......

as for anyone stating that "the Pogues" have caused another fuck up, well IMHO they can all go fuck themselves, as this is sad to hear it is not the end of the world??.................ummm errr close to it but not officially.......

now how about letting us in on the names of those promoters as i have a hankering to get me together a posse so we can go out and do a linching of these said promoters............................ ..............who's all in favour...... :?:

now i may have to decide on which venue to try to take in in the U.S...................could be a tough one for us this year with the prospects of unknown job loss's facing us thanks to the wonderful credit crisis??

wishfully hoping that this little set of bad news will be rectified in the near future??............ :?

Well I certainly will not blame anyone but this sucks as I was looking forward to Montreal. I trust that Mr Chevron and whoever else is involved will work hard to re-schedule these dates
