Please come to Canada. We have entered into a cultural void with music that is not meaningful or fun. I dream of going with my old mates to at least one more show. I promise to do my bit to bring up the intensity level.

My "Fairy tale of New York"??..............who says dreams don't come true??

once again "The Pogues" have put on two incredible shows in New York, they were tight really tight, and Shane has never looked or sounded better IMHO??

we met many Medusan's and were able to chat and party with many of them, you all make these weekend excursions have so much more meaning, i thank all of you, from the bottom of my heart, for the good times and the memory's now imbedded into my memory banks??.............you are all are a part of making these events mean so much more??

after these two most wonderful shows i was able to attend, they have added to the "mystics" of these New York excursions, this was my third year now being able to make it to their shows, and each weekend has its own "specialness" to them??

the list of names of Medusan's i have met grows larger by the year, and of course as all fanatical Pogues fans must share one dream, and that would be to meet "the Pogues" ??.......................or members of The Pogues??

on our last day i had a dream come true in a chance meeting at the train station, while waiting for our train??

it was shortly after 12:30 or so, we were all set to wait for our call to board, when i figure i could go out and get in one last smoke before boarding??

well i was heading up the stairs when i saw some people that looked rather familiar??.........at first i put it out of my mind as just a mirage from too many Jamesons and just having "Pogues overload" rushing through my thought process??
At the top of the stairs i turned to watch them walk away there was only one left, and i said this could not be "Shane" as they were supposed to be in Washington??....................i watched him walk around the corner and just said to myself no-way??.............so i proceded outside, lit up my smoke with this chance encounter dancing in my head, there was something about how that man walked that just said something?? well after one puff, i had to get this out of my system, so i tossed the smoke and went back down the stairs to where i believed the party had entered, and my suspicions were confirmed??..........in a total stunned state of amazement i found myself standing before none other than "Shane MacGowan and Jem Finer"??

well i finally blurted out their names, and asked as politely as possible to greet them and of course the rest of their party??

they were both most gracious, i reached out and shook both their hands and thanked them for their most wonderful music, and spoke with them both regarding my passion for the music and for Ireland itself, it was small talk, Shane even asked me my name, and of course i had to mention my lovely Irish wife??.....................to shake his hand and look into his eyes, was a very indescribable moment for me, it is a feeling that will stay with me for ever, his eyes have such beauty to them, i have no other way of describing this sensation i had, just a brilliant encounter with two gentleman that mean so much to me??

told them both what great shows they put on this weekend and was looking forward to seeing them once again next year, so then i left them??

as i walked away it hit me that no one would believe this, so once again i went back and apologized for intruding on their private time of travel, and asked them, if they would be so kind enough to have a pic with me, both were very accommodating, i now have two pics that will be most cherished, of my list of pics??......their assistant was kind enough to take the pic for me??....................with thanks again to the gentleman??

My thanks go out to Shane Macgowan and Jem Finer once again for allowing me to intrude on your privacy in a most gracious manner??

And to the lady traveling with them, i do believe it was "Jem's wife", to you i say, thankyou from the bottom of my heart for accepting or tolerating my intrusion upon your privacy, you and your party treated me with that "Irishness"??......for lack of a better description, that i have been the recipient of for so many years traveling to that wonderful island??..............you were a most gracious lady??

To all The Pogues??.......................thanks again for a most wonderful two nights in New York??

To Shane and Jem, once again thankyou a thousand times for taking the time to acknowledge my existence??

what an end to a most wonderful weekend, a dream has come true for me, a most wonderful "fairly tale of New York"??

i'm still shaking thinking about this chance encounter??

and who ever said dreams don't come true??......................well they were wrong??

Irishrose................................................................... 8)

Travelled from Ottawa to see a show and be able to check one more thing off on my 'life's to do list'. What a thrill. Husband and I had tickets for the Friday show at Roseland which we loved so, we promptly went back the next day and bought tix for the Saturday show! We're both still smiling, humming and whistling. On Saturday afternoon when we bought our tickets we had the good fortune to be able to stand for 10 or 15 minutes in the dark recesses of Roseland and watch Phil tune his guitar. Not quite the same as bumping into them in the train station admittedly but we can't all be THAT lucky I guess. You're a lucky human Irishrose!

Nonetheless, felt sort of thrilling to be a fly on the wall. We're sorry we missed the pre-show get together but, given how much we enjoyed these shows, I think it's likely that we'll hook up with the Medusans at another show in the future. Cheers!

What pub are all the Newfoundlanders meeting at before the show?

I saw Bloc Party tonight at the Boston House of Blues. Great venue, I loved it. However, don't even try to sneak in cameras or taping material, because the staff are absolute narcs. One guard came over and smacked me in the back for taking a video with my cell phone; go figure.

I'm epic pumped for this show though. See you all on the 21st!

Another great show. And a joy to hear "Thousands" performed so well, and sung in strong voice. Always one of my favorite moments in the set.

And echoing an earlier comment: Mr. C., those shoes are f--cking magnificent.

This was my third show in the past four years, my wife's fourth. (I missed '07 because I was out of town.) Every time, we're reminded of how fortunate we are the Pogues are still performing, and that they've made Boston a regular stop. With all of the places you could be, we're so glad to have you here.

Thanks for another special night. Best of luck on the rest of the tour, and safe home.

Having a little trouble logging on.

Well, I guess I should've booked the time off. Apparently there were two Boston 21st tickets available locally at a very fair price, found out early yesturday morning.

In the end, I guess I could've made it to Boston for tonight's show, and still be back in time to work on Monday.

Maybe next year?

I have planned on going tonight with friend. Last Night I was with my 15 year old daughter and drove by to see if I could by one extra ticket for tonight. No luck with tonight but someone had two extras for last night. I thought the show was 18+ so never thought of taking my daughter. We asked the folks at the door and they said all ages. My daughter said sure I'll go, so we bought the two and in we went and very happy we did. My daughter loved it.. Of course she had to have a t-shirt as well, but we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to tonight. Hope there is an extra ticket on the street for a friend tonight...Love the new (renovated) building as well.

me and a couple other people wrote reviews late last night for friday's show and now it seems they are all mysteriously disappeared on the forum, any idea why they are deleted now?
