As much as I'd love to see the Murphys and the Pogues in the same night, it definitely wouldn't happen on St. Patty's Day. As long as their playing together, the Murphys will play Boston for St. Pat's, plus, at least on the East coast of the US, the Murphy's are a lot bigger than the Pogues these days so if they were ever to play together, the Pogues would probably be the opening act.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe The Pogues headlined with Dropkick Murphys last year on St. Patty's Day. In Boston.

You are wrong. The Pogues were in NYC that weekend and Boston the following week.

You totally beat me to that response. Hah. OrionSafari was so wrong.

I don't even think, DKM and the pogues have played together in the U.S in past 5 years, if ever. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I think DKM have appeared with The Pogues at some of the UK dates in the last year or two. I'm kinda fuzzy on that though, and am probably wrong.

Marc Orrell, Tim Brennan, and James Lynch (all from DKM) play in an a band called Gimme Danger that opened for the Boston Shows in March. Photos are here: http://photos.dzm.com/v/music/gimme_danger/

You are indeed correct. 'Twas on the 2005 Christmas tour. Not sure if they played all the dates, but they certainly did when we went.

It frightens me that I actually remember this stuff (well ... remember that it happened if not exactly when or where) for shows I didn't even attend. I need to get outside more.

Right, they played together in the U.K in 2005 , and I remember try to convince my then gf to fly over. Of course we were pretty much broke. Now she's my wife and makes almost twice as much as me.

But, the question that concerns me is have DKM and The Pogues ever played together in the U.S.?

Ah, I stand corrected. I went to the Chicago show last year and apparently didn't pay enough attention to the shows on the coast. Good catch.

Yes, they did. I believe Shane took an unfortunate tumble during that stand.

Philip, so glad to read that you might be up for touring this year.

Already did it.

Linky linky on the front page for pre-sale. And the other thread has been updated. And now this thread will be stickied and the other un-stickied.

It's also nice to see that it's no longer Too Damn Cold. :)
