You might find it' to be more fun than a one-day event with a local show, and you'll have some great memories for the rest of your life. The trips I took to Atlantic City and New York will be with me for a long long time.

I hope you can make it.

You're absolutely right you know. Seeing the Pogues in my own back yard would be really nice, but nor, for me, the trip to Boston is PART of seeing The Pogues...as is the Orpheum Theatre.

Seen the Pogues three times this way now, I wonder what HOB will be like...other than being in what I've been told is a terrible area (?).

Last year, my GF's sister and her husband came with us. Splitting the cost that way was great.

It is almost like going to see The Pogues is just an excuse to visit Boston. I love that city, been there 4 times now. The first time was in Sept. 2000 during the hight of the big dig. Though I might not make it to boston in March, we may still visit Boston later in the Spring/Summer just for the hell of it.

I have an excellent grip and I have traveled to see them before (Dublin 2001 -Point Theatre). Granted I was already going to be over there for Christmas anyway. Great show and the Dubliners even made an appearance. Hopefully I can make it up to the NYC or Boston show as I cant make the 16/17th in DC.

The Boston House of Blues show is on Lansdowne street right next to Fenway Park. The area isn't great but I wouldn't say it's terrible. There are a ton of bars and clubs nearby for pre and post show festivities and it's close to transportation.

I am going to the Boston show with three friends from work. It's an hour and a half drive for us. I just haven't decided where to park yet. Last year at the Orpheum was great, we parked under the commons and it only cost $10.00.

Beware, Fenway Park is very close to an area called the Fens. That's not a place you want to walk around at night.

With regard to parking, you can sometimes have luck on Commonwealth Ave (BU). If you arrive early, say 5PM-6PMish, there is usually turnover of the metered spots and you then only have a few minute walk to the venue or pre-show venues. This area is pretty busy as it leads right to Kenmore Square and
is safe.

BU alumni here. 5PM to 6PM is right when I want to arrive, get some dinner and start drinking. Most of the alcohol needs to be out of my system by the time the show is over. I'm gonna try for Beacon St, there are a lot of spaces a little ways down the road.

just wanted to express my dissapointment at your group's decision not to include the Philly area in your tour schedule. A fan since '85, I couldn't believe, with the successes of past shows, seeing we were passed over. From South Jersey to Harrisburg, PA and points north and south, you have no more a loyal a group of fans. I hope the group reconsiders and adds a show for the 14th. Could you please continue to pass along our concerns as they come in, to those that schedule tour stops. Thanks!

We made the trip from DC to Philly in 2007. It was snowing, but we didn't think it would be a problem. We left @ 1:30pm in hopes of hitting a bar for a while before the show. The drive was horrible, with heavier snow and insanely heavy traffic. At many points, we were not moving. Our designated driver almost turned back as it got dark and we were only in Wilmington, DE, but we drunkard passengers urged him on. We arrived at the Electric Factory around 7:30 - just enough time to get in, get some good seats in the balcony and develop a nice relationship with our waitress before the lads took the stage.

It was a stupidly long trip, but we had a fantastic time, and would've done it again.

btw, the trip back was a breeze in comparison.

Also, these same two friends of mine are coming from DC (where there are two shows) to NYC (where I am near now) just to see the Pogues in NY since we haven't seen them there yet.

If you're a true fan, you'll make the trip (scheduling and finances allowing of course).

I took the Chinatown bus from DC to NY to see a (cancelled) show at Roseland in 2007. I schemed - how could I stay and try to see the next night's show. Then sleep in Penn Station.... and take a train back to DC.... in time for a 7 am shift. A little ashamed to say I didn't try it - had to talk myself out of it.

Starting Jan 1 LiveNation now only sells tickets via their own outlets, not TicketBastard.

I need to update the front page.

Live Nation are celebrating the global recession by charging even more than TicketBastards fees- A mere $15.50 per $60 ticket...sold!
