Sure, this year, as in past years, the distance itself is irrelevant, and in reality, the cost of getting to Boston from Halifax by car is really quite inexpensive. However, it is he added costs of lodging that concerns me most, especially if weather/road conditions add an unexpected evening to the trip; the first two years, '06 and '07, were clear sailing both ways. Last March was another storey. We hit snow in Eastern Maine on the way back home, ad the rest of the trip, about 8 hours, in the dark was absolutely miserable through New Brunswick and central Nova Scotia. We should've stopped and found some place to stay, but we drove on. The snow added about 4 hours to the trip.
I could easily leave Halifax to get me to Boston just in time, stay for the show, and head home all in a ~24 hour period, but where's the fun in that? I could even go to Boston, spend the night, and come back, but again, where is the fun in that?
My first year (2006), w spent two nights, but the last coulple years, we stayed nearly an entire week, and have enjoyed the trip all that much more.
I just don't know at this point right now where the extra cash will come from. I will however take that week off, and play it by ear. Who knows, I may make it to boston afterall.
Does anyone know how much scalped tickets might go for the night of the show?
