Now that I went and bought a ticket for NY, I'm afraid to look at how much hotel prices have increased since last year. :?

Seattle was just getting released from the hospital at 3 pm EST so I tried to buy tickets via Blackberry but when I got to the screen that said "Quick Pick Tickets" I highlighted that tab but nothing happened when I submitted my selection. Any advice from more experienced Blackberry addicts as to what I did wrong?

I did not panic (too much) in this situation and returned to our hotel a short time ago where tickets for the Atlanta show were quickly snatched up. 8) No kids this time around so we are looking forward to pre-show gathering with Medusans. Who else is headed to HOTlanta besides Meowhouse?

Seattle is now resting comfortably watching her Bob Marley video (minus tonsils and adenoids) with a grape Popsicle by her side.

if prices are a lot, you could always get hotel outside of the city and take the train/bus in. could save you a lot of money.

I bought tickets for all of them in case I can make DC. Now I feel like a freak.

Well this is nowhere near what I've spent on NIN lately. Although proportionately it's more; 100% of available Pogues shows, only a tiny percentage of NIN.

No that would be crazy as we could actually drive to that show... I bought my first Pogue's tickets to a show they did at the First Avenue, unfortunately I had a conflict with a business trip and had to give the tickets away. It would be more than 10 years before I actually had the pleasure of seeing a live show.

You are right though. A large population of Irish descendants resides in St. Paul and I would guess a promoter would do very well with a show(s) in the Twin Cities.

Oh my, I didn't know Seattle was in the hospital. I hope she isn't in too much pain.

Am trying to get a lovely girl from the Shane forum to come up from Florida to Atlanta so we can have a party! Hope there are more Medusa people there too.

Signed, Freakish Band Follower o_O :P

Ooh, I had my tonsils and adenoids removed when I was about her age, maybe a little younger. The cream cakes afterwards almost made the procedure worthwhile. :)

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We just booked the Hilton Garden Inn on 8th Avenue (between 48th and 49th) for $179 using the AAA rate. Parking is only $30 overnight, too. That makes the whole thing a slightly better deal than we got at the Hampton Inn last year. I could use the extra two block walk anyway.

No no no, you have it all wrong. It's the people who pass up opportunities to see The Pogues that are the freaks.

meowhouse wrote:Oh my, I didn't know Seattle as in the hospital. I hope she isn't in too much pain.

No mention of pain yet. They say it is usually about 5 days when the worst of the pain hits. She is sleeping now.

We'll all have to coordinate these things in the days leading up. I used to live in DC but don't know it well anymore and may not go anyway but can help out with planning for Boston/NYC/Atlanta.

Although I prefer to get rail and rail requires waiting in line early, usually. So it all depends on how much waiting I want to do for how many shows as to whether I can go anywhere before the show. After-show though is wide open.

And yes my philosophy is that any band could end it all tomorrow and never tour again. So opportunities must be acted upon when they are offered, as much as possible.

:D Thank you, thank you - I just booked one night's stay there. I feel I should buy you a beer or whatever beverage is your pleasure for saving me all that search time.

I've been informed that general availability of the Boston tickets will be after when tickets for the other shows go on. I'll update once I know a firm on-sale date for Boston. In the meanwhile the Pre-Sale is the only way to get Boston tickets.

I've also been asked whether seating is available for those that need it at the HOB in Boston. I'm told that the HOB is a revamped Avalon and is all GA.

Hey Philip! Just another request for a Philadelphia stop. Heck, ya gotta pass right by goin from NY to Washington. :)

And while I'm at it (ridiculous requests, that is), how about an all ages show in Philly? That way I can bring my 11 year old daughter (a Pogues fanatic).
