Actually, haven't kept up to speed on this, sorry. James is now in The Pretenders, so I suppose it depends on their schedule, as they just released a new album.

Seen the band a few times over the last 25 years but always in the UK- anyone shed light on whether the set/tempo/atmosphere etc is any different across the water?

Awesome! I live just outside Toronto, but have traveled to New York to see the band the last three years.

I hope you're good to go for the USA tour. Thousands are Sailing is always a personal highlight for me. I'd love to see you guys in Philadelphia, but I guess if I have to, I can travel to NYC for the show. Still, Philadelphia loves you, please come back! (We miss you.)

I don't think there are many differences. I am pretty sure that England now has the same smoking ban as the US for indoor venues. Overpriced beer is sold. Not sure about seating-it will depend on which gig you attend.
I will guess Boston will be at the Orpheum again, so that is a strict seat assignment venue. Setlist is usually
the same, give or take a song. In 2006, Ella Finer did FONY with Shane for the entire East Coast tour, but
only joined them (I believe) for the NYC St. Pat's show 2008.

Hope this helps. Usually there is a lot of talk and advice for a particular city in the months and weeks before
a show. Crowd is a mix of Irish, Irish-Americans, punk fans young and old.

The band will be good, the singer will be drunk and tears will be shed for the famine

Though it'll be no frostier than NYC in March up here in Toronto, I can guarentee a run of sold out rowdy shows!

Atlanta? Atlanta?? Atlanta?!?

You mean I'll just have to drive 30 miles to see my favorite band instead of flying 600 miles? Holy cow, March can't come quick enough. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out alright and you all will make it down South.
