You say that like it's a bad thing - 8)

My coworkers just smile and nod when I tell them that I've just picked up more Pogues tickets. They are resigned to hearing me talk about nothing else for the next 3 months

Sorry if this wastes time, but I'm looking around the artist arena site and this one for info on how to buy presale tickets - is there a very obvious post that I'm missing?

Thanks, DZM. That's me above as Oct2704 - I had a registration some time ago when I posted a ham-fisted thank you to you and the bandmembers who post. Anyway, I lost the info for the confounded thing and figured I'd just start over.

Anyway, just sorted out two tickets for the 3/13 show - third time seeing a band I didn't think I'd ever get to see. Let the holiday euphoria begin...

Well here's a ham-fisted Thank You and You're Welcome and Welcome Back and Start The Euphoric Glowing.

Cheers

It's the exact same price as last year ($62.50 after svc. charges) for the DC shows.

Yeah not for NYC. NYC shows are now 59 bucks as oppose to 55 bucks. last year service charge was 7, this year its 9.20. I'm not sure if Ticketbastard is cheaper or more money. I don't know how everyone can afford multiple shows, cities all the time. I can't even afford one show lol.

Here's to only being able to afford one show locally. Who knows what TM would charge, likely a $15 service charge and a $3 venue charge. bastards. Save yourself some money by not drinking the $10 beer at the show.

I hear that...I live about six blocks from the 9:30, and once again, I'm only going to one show. Ah well - maybe I should work more OT  . At least my friends and I can do the bargain happy hour at my place before the show!

It's just that everyone else is all "I have my one ticket!" So I feel weird. But DC is up in the air, I'd really like to go for Paddy's but I won't know if it's do-able until later.

I don't mention these things anymore to people at work after remarks that I am "too old" to be going around to concerts. Also that I must be crazy to actually fly anywhere to see one. But flying to some tacking hotel near Disneyworld for the weekend or sitting in a parking lot for 6 hours eating food amidst the exhaust fumes while waiting to sit for another 4 hours in the cold and watch men throwing a football through binoculars is "normal." WTF.

Clash Cadillac you are right ... the Twin Cities will FLOCK to any and all things Irish .. especially POGUES ...
There is a great outdoor venue where they have an Irish Fair every year mid August .. Harriet Island .. last year Flogging Molly played two nights among lesser known but quality acts .. whaddya say Philip, maybe tell your promoter to check it out to kick off a 2009 fall tour and show the Mollys how its really done .. they're good, but they ain't no POGUES by a long shot ... 8)

Yeah, I'm in this category as well. I'd love to able to see more shows but can't swing it. I'm just happy to get in the one, and avoiding the ticketmaster "convenience" charge, order charge and charges for God knows what else is a bonus.

As for beer, I usually cave and get a couple at the show, but will probably be warming up beforehand in brooklyn.

"too old!?" these are the people who think music is for kids, and that it's suitable as background noise, or something to tap their feet to, while standing in an elevator. These people are missing an important part of LIFE. We know THE TRUTH, because we have experienced The Mighty Pogues, up close and in full glory!

I agree with you re: football - North American football, anyway.
