Oh dear - thought I'd try and buy the tickets for Brixton over the phone but will have to wait until tomorrow :( I know the presale is for internet purchases only but don't want to do that. Really hope we get tickets ok for standing on 19th, hope they have an allocation left for phone purchases! Other years we have been fine buying them so hope so this year as well.

All take deep breaths now. Don't panic.

As I posted above - sometimes I wonder why I bother - Manchester, London, Dublin and Belfast are unlikely to sell out immedistely but probably will sell out in time. I would be reluctant to take such a sanguine approach to the other gigs, which are in smaller venues and which, in the case of Sheffield, Leeds and Bristol, are in cities we have not played in over 17 years.

This is because Manchester, London, Dublin and Belfast are full of achingly and self-consciously hip people who see no reason to get automatically excited about a visit by the Best Live Rock n Roll Band In The World, as this happens to them on a daily basis [if that slight doesn't sell more tickets in Manchester, nothing will].

Just booked. Missed Manchester last year and thoroughly regretted it - Nottingham couldn't compare, atmosphere-wise. This year sees the return of the lads all-dayer in Manchester folowed by Birmingham with the lass on the Monday. Last train back home from Brum is 23:10 - might have to get our skates on.

Ticketmaster are asking £5.65 booking fee per ticket for Manchester - don't know if this is the pre-sale booking fee price or the standard booking fee. A bit steep - Brum is only(!) £2.95 per ticket.

That's reassuring Philip, thank you. We are quite a way from Brixton (Norfolk) so it takes a lot of organising to go to the 'big city'! Daughter and boyfriend at uni near London - easy for them and they are able to see quite a few gigs. Boyfriend has been to many festivals this summer but the best was the 'V' at Chelmsford where the Best Live Rock n Roll Band In The World played!

I'm getting tickets for Brixton (I haven't been to this venue before), so a quick question - sitting or standing??

Standing! You get a good view everywhere at Brixton so standing for the best atmosphere.

For me there's no question - standing. I love to get as close as possible to the band, get down the front and have a grand old knees-up! If the mosh pit's not quite your thing it's always calmer if you stand a few rows back to the side. :D

Just booked my Manchester presale tickets at Ticketmaster, I booked using the front page link last year and the tickets only arrived 5 days before the gig, I was fortunate enough someone was at home to take them in and I did not have to go to the sorting office on the day of the gig to pick them up.

Always find that if I book with Ticketmaster they are usually here within a week, so when they e-mailed me that they were doing a presale I had to use them. I'm just a bit shocked at the service charge £5.65 per ticket, then their is the fee of sending them by secure post of £4.95, but hell I get to see The Pogues again.

We shall, looking forward to it.

I still have your number in my phone from last year, hope you haven't changed it. It'll come in handy for keeping in touch with you should you get lost or plans change of where we're meeting.

Heather,

Not sure if this is offered for Manchester gigs, but I booked Brixton tix through TM and went for the 'print your own ticket option'. No need to rely on postal service or agency to send them out in time.

Is the Kings Hall in Belfast all general admission? how much standing, seated? Having never been there I was just curious so I'd know how early to get there to get close to the stage.

Mr. C., did the band and your promoter give any thought to playing the newly rehabbed 02 Arena in Dublin, forever fondly remembered as the Point? Looks pretty awesome from the virtual tour on the website, though it's a shame they had to sell naming rights.

Coldplay are booked to play at the 02 in Dublin on Dec. 21st and 22nd ....now WHO in their right mind would go to a coldplay gig over a pogues one?!

It doesn't give that option this time for Manchester (or for Birmingham). That option was available for Manchester about 4 years ago - they still charged a couple of quid postage for the 'print your own ticket' option!!!

There is a cheaper option (£2 IIRC) of collecting from the box office but you need to be the person who owns the credit card and have the card with you on collection.
