I went last year, its a huge cattle-shed with poor bar / toilet facilities, but then again aren't most venues poor when it comes to getting a drink, still its nice to be able to use the toilet without waiting for half an hour, i saw a girl crying in a huge que because she was desperate, we got a pass out and went to the pub over the road to use the loo after a bit of a disagreement with the guy running the door, if you're after a great crowd experience, i would not recommend the kings hall - go to Birmingham , Glasgow or Brixton, don't know about manchester, Sheffield, leeds or Bristol ?

If I am to catch 2 gigs on this tour, which 2 would be easiest, considering travelling between places etc...

Sheffield and Manchester i'd say would be the best option if your after 2 gigs, Sheffield is Friday night and Manchester Saturday...its about an hours train ride between the two cities.

Regarding Liverpool as a venue; while the place itself is im sure a cracking new venue, it is in an awful location in terms of people getting trains, busses etc home after the gig. At least the Evening News and the G Mex are handy for train stations.

Or Bristol and Birmingham about an hour on the train or an hour and a half by road

Not quite sure what to do yet, living in a part of the country that's a bit of a Pogues desert, realistically at least a couple of hours from the nearest venues and with no gigs within reach at a weekend...

hmm, it'll take some thought to sort out this year. Though somehow we will do it.

Good morning all,
I'm new member of this forum and I think the first Italian one!!!
I would like to know some information about the concert in Manchester, my problem is that from italy the price of the flights are quite high but I have found a Ryanair flight that will land in Manchester around 20.10, do you know if the airport is far from the place of the concert?does the concert really start at 20.00?
I would like to see a Pogues concert but they never play in Italy and during the week it's not possible for me to take holidays!
Thanks a lot for your answer!

Hi. You are not Our First Italian, but you are no less welcome for that!

The Pogues' showtime in the UK is seldom earlier than 21.00 and we usually are punctual to within a range of 20 minutes or so. [This tour, Sheffield will be earlier, about 8pm or so].

My view is that you need a much earlier flight than the one you are looking at, especially at that time of year.

Agree regarding that Flight; your looking at over an hour to get from the Airport to the Evening News Arena.

The frontpage does.
