Looks like it's just Manchester for me this year, can't make the Belfast gig even though it's a Saturday as I'm seeing Carmen at the Liverpool Empire.

No gigs for the next Saturday planned either by the look of things unless they add an extra date at Brixton due to popular demand (which I will try and go to if that happens).

No Liverpool date either, we have an arena now, mind you I'm glad about that in a way I believe tickets are hard to get hold of for gigs there with phone lines jammed and queues round the block, and they don't seem to sell them on Ticketmaster. I've also heard that you can't stand in the arena and the local newspaper did report that their was a fight in the front two rows at one of the gigs (oh yeah, really, I personally think people were trying to mosh).

Probably Dublin again, unless they add another one in London on the 20th.

Whats the RDS like ?
I've seen the Pogues at both the kings hall and the point and i have to say they are the worst venues I've seen them in - big fuckin cattle sheds, brum, brixton and glasgow are the best venues from a being in the crowd point of view......... in my opinion , that is

Hope Phil will confirm soon,I already booked flight and hotel! :?

Decisions, decisions...............I'm a bit uncertain about going to the MEN - painful memories of two years ago. It's a shame we're back there again as Manchester Central was so good last year. I think Leeds and Sheffield are certainties and I will have to see if work commitments will let me do Dublin again.

I'm excited! This will be my first trip to London. What better reason than a Pogues gig or two.......or three?

I'm leaning toward Belfast. Any input as to the venue?

Would really like to catch them again this year, but it seems like I'm travelling alone, everyone here is broke.

If I am to catch 2 gigs on this tour, which 2 would be easiest, considering travelling between places etc...

Sheffield and Manchester i'd say would be the best option if your after 2 gigs, Sheffield is Friday night and Manchester Saturday...its about an hours train ride between the two cities.

Regarding Liverpool as a venue; while the place itself is im sure a cracking new venue, it is in an awful location in terms of people getting trains, busses etc home after the gig. At least the Evening News and the G Mex are handy for train stations.

I have often gone to the theatre in Manchester (Matinee) and Sheffield (Evening) on the same day, which makes me think it may be possible for you to stay in one place or the other for both shows. As there will apparently by a 10pm curfew at the Sheffield show, it is probably feasible to travel back to Manchester on a late train. Someone who lives closer to Sheffield than I may be able to tell you if Sheffield Railway Station is close to the venue. I used to be able to take a brisk 10-minute walk down the hill to the station from the Lyceum and Crucible theatres.

If the Sheffield show will be over at 10pm, you should have no problems getting a train back to Manchester; a quick look at the venue website and a map tells me its a 10 min walk to the station at the very most. If you were planning on staying in Sheffield i'd say you'd struggle to get back to Manchester as you'd have to get from the Evening News Arena to Piccadilly Station sometime after 11, and the Arena can take a while to get out of and the station is a 20 min walk away. Manchester is a decent city to stay in anyway.
