Heather wrote:Just booked my Manchester presale tickets at Ticketmaster, I booked using the front page link last year and the tickets only arrived 5 days before the gig, I was fortunate enough someone was at home to take them in and I did not have to go to the sorting office on the day of the gig to pick them up.

Always find that if I book with Ticketmaster they are usually here within a week, so when they e-mailed me that they were doing a presale I had to use them. I'm just a bit shocked at the service charge £5.65 per ticket, then their is the fee of sending them by secure post of £4.95, but hell I get to see The Pogues again.

Followed the link on the front page yesterday to book tics for Brum. £2.50 booking fee and a £4.80 transaction fee. What a fucking rip off, nearly 25% of the face value of the ticket is being charged on top by these "legal" scalpers.

Oh for a gig in the flatlands of East Anglia...
Yes, we are in a similar situation. (You'll probably pass us on the way from Norfolk to Brixton...) Have to get transportation to the smoke sorted before I can book the tickets, which is always worrying. And this year's dates don't fit in with kids' uni terms. Complications abound, as ever.

Standing. No question.

The Evening News is the biggest venue on the tour, if your seated near the back you just have to watch the screens!

I decided I wanted a smaller venue so I booked Leeds. Now I think I'll balance that out with a big one...Manchester or Belfast, Manchester or Belfast????

I actually suggested this when the echo arena opened but as I said in an earlier post on this thread, I'm glad that they're not, due to it being an incredibly difficult venue to get tickets for, and you have to stay seated so there's no chance of moshing.

I would hate to miss my favourite band play my favourite city in the world, I just can't bear the thought of being sat at home knowing The Pogues are in town because I haven't been able to get tickets.

As I mentioned somewhere else on here, our UK shows are booked almost a year in advance, and I doubt the new venue could have guaranteed to accomodate us back then. As has rightly been pointed out, we have not played Liverpool in recent years, but now there's a good-sized venue there, that may change if we do a tour in 2009. On the other hand, I don't like playing arenas which are all-seated, as I still have bad memories of the crush in Wembley Arena 20 years ago, which drove us right back to Brixton Academy where we belong. But if the venue has a flexible configuration and can allow a standing/moshing area down front, I am certain it will be considered in the future.

Nahh I dont think it can Phillip which is a shame. Its just typical of our at City at present. We have done a fantastic job of the City of Culture and have had some wonderful stuff on however the biggest thing we fuck up and make a stadium that doesnt hold enough to hold somebody massive but then doesnt have the capability to host a band with slightly less support but that requires a standing area. Basically we are left with Gabriell, High School Music on Ice, Deacon Blue and whatever. Sorry rant over. I love my city
