Rum, they played the Coventry Godiva festival the first weekend in July, they were on just before The Enemy on the Saturday evening, just down the road from you and you missed them

Worse than that mate , they played Glastonbury, twice and i missed them, i only discovered them a couple of days ago after recording T in the park hoping to catch the Pogues - still i reckon there will be a tour with the album in September
Bloody typical, i am just checking out Seth Lakeman, he's in Wolverhampton in October

Big biceps, anyway. As I have been told many a time.

I think Seth only did one night supporting the Pogues at Brixton? In 2005 I think? And I wasn't there that night. (The Academy had him listed at "Seth Lake", which always vaguely amuses me.)

But having seen him a number of times since, I'd have to say he's spectacular live. Specially if you can get to see him in a small venue.

Philip - is there any news about a UK tour this year? I check this thread every day in hope of dates being announced so I thought I would pose the question. I know we all look forward to seeing the complete band again now that you are well.

We will be touring from December 6 to 22. We'll post dates once they're all finalised.

Though I do hope to be well enough for this tour, it is probably too soon to begin taking my appearance for granted. I regret I will not, for example, be with the band on either of the two UK Festival dates next weekend. There is still mending to be done and while nobody is more frustrated than I that this has tended to take an erratic course, that's nevertheless how it is for the moment.

Very sorry to hear, Philip, that recovery is so frustratingly unpredictable. I'm sure everyone on this forum would agree that it's far more preferable for you to take your time to get well than to see you on stage too early for your own good. Much as we would like to see you there. Hope you get over this blip soon. All the very best wishes, and keep your spirits up!

The rest of the news is excellent, of course.

Philip we all wish you the very best for your recovery. We would rather that you regain good health than see you on tour. We know you are there in spirit and every time I play tracks from the boxed set which you so lovingly put together whilst fighting for recovery from cancer I thank God for you and all the band. It is great to hear there will be a UK tour in December. Thank you.

Yes, all the best Mr C, i really hope you are well enough for Xmas and thanks for keeping us informed, it's great knowing there are more gigs to look forward to.
Please let it be the Carling Academy in birmingham this year, and i think i will do Brixton again , unless there is a new venue/Town to check out, i've always fancied a trip to one of them Scottish islands :D :D :D
