I wonder if they'll resurrect their 'Japanese' classics ... 'Pachinko', 'Sayonara' and not forgetting the instrumental 'Japan' played live in '88? :D

But given the mess we made of trying to get to Brum, I hate to think of the trouble we could get into on a trip to Japan...

Well, AX is like smaller London Astoria and Shibuya is a town like Picadilly Circus or Times Square. You can enjoy "Lost in translation" tour.

Fuji Rock Festival is Glastonbury type festival and it takes three or four hours from central Tokyo to go to Naeba ski resort - Naeba is not Mt. Fuji though.

I saw drunken Shane in WOMAD '91 at Yokohama and the tour with Joe Strummer. Joe was an original Fuji Rocker and he enjoyed the festival almost every year.

I can't believe it that the pogues' going to Japan again! I can't wait to go to Japan (where I'm from) even though I'm now living in the UK and went to their reunion gigs in 2001 and 2004!
So I don't know how the venue is like... but, anyhow, it must be fun!!

I just found out the venue's web site if you need.

(sorry it's Japanese only)

cheers :)

Japan tour

the gig in tokyo at shibuya ax will be the highlight.. it is maximum 2000 people or there abouts.. my guess tix will be 6000 to 8000 yen which is standard fee here in Japan.. Fuji fest might be alright but since it is in the middle of Japanese rainy season it isn't the most pleasant of experiences..and tix prices are almost 40,000 yen for the 3 days, however you can buy one day tix this year, unlike last year where they soaked us for all 3 days.. last year we had mud up to our knees on the friday nite! I am not sure about Osaka.. sorry! if you have any questions give me an email at theholyspooklives'at'yahoo.ca (replace the at mark of course) cheers from Japan

Hey Mr. Chevron and Mr. fearnley, these Japanese gigs are another chance to make DVD- and CD recordings of the 2004 reunion .. don't forget this time ! By the way; next time mainland Europe ??

Well, that's a relief! Sorry, we weren't being coy about the Japanese dates - our business manager had simply not concluded negotiations.

I imagine the band plans to spend a lot of time getting totally hammered during the international flights, then several days adjusting to the time zone shift and "jet-lag" induced hangovers. :)

Oh. Wait. That's just what I do when I travel internationally.
