Attention all Old Skool festival dwellers and Pogues fans!

I’m working for Hidden Hive Productions on a fantastic independent documentary called Main Stage which is based around the 29 bands that played the Main Stage at Reading 89. The Pogues are one of these bands and and are being included in the documentary.

A big part of material for this production we hope will come from assorted Fan footage and stills from that year. Or indeed any bootleg footage for any of the bands that we are featuring.

So this is a request for anyone who has any pics or bootleg footage now matter how dodgy it may look now in this digital age we would love to have a look and see if it could be used. I have heard there is a bootleg tape of the Pogues performance that year but haven't tracked down a copy yet

Just to jog your memories the bands featured are :

Gaye Bykers on Acid; Spacemen 3; My Bloody Valentine; That Petrol Emotion; Tackhead; Swans; House of Love; Sugarcubes; New Order; Something Happens; Bhundu Boys; Les Negresses Vertes; The Men They Couldn’t Hang; Mary Coughlan; Green On Red; Billy Bragg; Wedding Present; New Model Army; The Pogues; World Domination Enterprises; Head of David; Loop; Jesus Jones; Crazyhead; Pop Will Eat Itself; Voice of the Beehive; Butthole Surfers; The Wonderstuff and The Mission.

Please post a response or send me an email (carabermingham at hotmail.com) if you or anyone you know of might be able to help.

Thanks a lot for reading!

Cheers

Cara

Cara I was there, and sometime later picked up a VHS boot of the show, and sometime later another

The first was shot from about ?50 yards back in the middle and has good sound, the other was shot close by the right hand speaker and is distorted. Billy Bragg joined the band for the encores, a man playing the spoons and god knows who else ...

I haven't seen said tapes in more than a decade but they're in the attic somewhere, I'm sure others have copies ...?
