I don't know for sure, but I think any further US shows this year are unlikely.

Shane swears that Jay Z sent him a handwritten letter with a view to using a Pogues sample. I might have been a bit more interested had I not heard the exact same story from him a couple of years ago, only it was Puff Daddy writing then...

As for our plans later this year I know for a fact that the Friends Of Shane might have some inside information..

In all honesty, if it was Tuesday Morning or something I wrote I would let 'em do what ever they wanted with it. Given the choice between telling Jay-Z to fuck off or making shed loads of money...I'd take the shedloads. My wife told Tony Blair to fuck off last time we were in San Francisco, and although that was enjoyable, it was hardly life changing. Anyway, I don't think it's very likely.

I would totally take the money. Who cares if Jay-Z uses a sample and does whatever with it? If it's horrible people will just say he ruined the original; if it's great people will say look here at what he did with that pogues song. See how everyone is laughing at Cadillac for being so stupid as to use the most inappropriate and worst possible verse of sunnyside to sell their expensive yuppie cars? Cadillac got the worst of that deal.

"Selling out" is a concept only used by people who aren't in a position to have others offering to pay them to borrow their work. Meh. Take the money.

yeah cheers, i had seen that, alot of heresay and conjecture as usual. i have seen posted on a pretty reliable site they are listed to play on 'the great escape' festival on sat 4th and sunday 5th of october. nothing in set in concrete though.
