The V lineup is announced officially tonight at 8.30 so should be able to get an idea of how long the set should be by the bands position on whatever stage.

The Pogues are playing SECOND TO TOP in the JJB Arena on Saturday Chelmsford Sunday Stafford. This is a great slot on the stage with the best atmosphere. Usually this slot is around an hour and 10mins. Ian Brown is headlining the stage.

Me and some friends are actually going to Dublin in this period (between 8-15. of June, somewhere around there) and seeing The Pogues at the Oxegen festival would be a perfect opportunity! :D

Any chance of getting 3-4 Day Tickets when they go on sale this Friday?

Summer Festivals 2008

Post Tue Mar 04, 2008 11:24 pm

Hi Philup,

Are the band and yourself looking forward to these summer gigs ? What about Oxegen its always crazy , I've been to it loads always fun but this year is my last (so i say every year )but it whould be nice to end it with the Pogues .
Believe this or not , a few months ago i sent MCD a e mail saying they should add more Irish acts to give it a unique feel , home grown acts with The Pogues , Republic of loose , Damo , Christey , Kila , Bell x1 ,and even Van the Man to name a few . I tought this would go down well in a mix with all the other acts .
Oxegen gets bad press but has a leathal line up every year and we always have a blast .
Im probably jumpin the gun but any word on which stage yet ? I seen flogging molly in either electric picnic or oxegen 2years ago and they played in a tent ? but i tought the sound wasnt great but was a good gig .
Anys ways best of luck i'l be up the front any way .

I think we're booked to play in a tent, but I don't know which one yet. I played Oxegen with the Radiators in 2004 and found it to be no better or no worse than most festivals. As much as it is possible to look forward to playing in a tent in a muddy field, we are definitely looking forward to our summer shows. It's always worthwhile doing something unfamiliar from time to time, even if it is only playing in a muddy tent. See you up the front.

the pogues are on before ian brown in the jjb arena, shane had the complete stone roses on tour with him a few years back, and is a huge fan of ian,ian is also a huge fan of him, infact shane helped ian get sinead o connor in his single illegall attacks, maybe they will join each other on stage, the two bands two have changed my life were the pogues and the stone roses, and to be on the same bill next to each other is a dream come true, well not the roses ian brown, same thing to me.cant bloody wait,im am going were srteams of whisky are flowing.

Anyone??

And it doesn't say on the Oxegen website that Pogues is playing, but it's Thursday right, the last day? Don't wanna book tickets for the wrong day.

What period? Either look at front page attentively or type carefully.
"Anyone" is getting lost trying to sort out what 8-15 June has to do with Oxegen..

but it's Thursday right,

Today? Could be, easily.

the last day?

Hopefully not. Looking forward for weekend at least..

Don't wanna book tickets for the wrong day.

Consult your pocket calender carefully then!
13 July is supposed to be Sunday. Funny, 13 June is Friday... The only 13 Thursdays are in March and November. Which of them are you talking? BTW! It's 2008. JFYI.
