Eek. I do sort of hate the V Festival and its corporate ripoffness.

this seems to be a popular misconception of V as I find it to be no more of a 'corporate' festival than any other major uk festivals. as i live nearby I've been to every V since 2000 and if the pogues managed to get the slot of quite high up in the jjb arena where the beautiful south, jarvis cocker, ocean colour scene, iggy and the stooges, ian brown have played in recent years, this will be a great festival to play! however, it can be the case that top bands who are not currently gracing the uk charts are often given an early set on the main 'V stage' which means a very short set and large numbers of people who simply sit infront of the v stage all day watching.

Fair enough, King, I maybe was being a tad harsh. But it was just reflecting my own experiences of going to V. I've been to it at Chelmsford a few times, and always found it pretty corporate in style/atmosphere. Ok, I haven't been to it since 2004, and perhaps things have changed since then. Or maybe many other current festivals are not much different now. And you're right about the "V stage" problems. Anyway, after 2004, we decided it would take something exceptional to get us to fork out the dosh again. The Pogues would be exceptional.

I was thinking that myself, that is one festival I've always wanted to go and never got round to, if The Pogues were playing there I'd definitely go.

Well its a time off work and financial thing for me, we kind of always to to Glastonbury in a group of 8 to 10 people and always have a great time, there is just so much going on there its hard to put a case for a different festival but I'm sure sooner or later our luck will run out and we wont get tickets so maybe V could be an alternative, ive always fancied doing that one in Devon, not sure what its called i think the Levellers are behind it

T in the Park, Oxegen and the V Festivals have been confirmed and added to the Medusa frontpage. Have fun, all of you who are going!

Argh, no, it's the wrong way round. I was really hoping for The Pogues to be at Chelmsford on the Sunday. Now that makes life difficult. Arse.

Mmm - I'd love to go. But I wonder if there are any tickets left and even if there were - wha outrageous 'transaction fee', 'administration charge' and 'booking fee' would the bastard ticket sellers be charging? They're ruining it for everyone.

V Festival tickets go on sale on 7th March. They will not be cheap. They will sell out very quickly, though it will be possible to bid for them on ebay immediately thereafter.
