wear something you don't mind getting beer on...
prepare for large drunken men singing in your ear, and let the short girls squeeze in up front

metal pits are a lot different than pogues' pits. it's good fun. if someone falls they get helped up rather quickly. it's not as violent i suppose. good fun.

You may get hugged (and occasionally kissed) by complete strangers.

Either and/or both.
You are also likely to get randomly danced with.

We always look forwards to seeing the band and can't wait to go to the Brixton gig oon 21st Dec. I was wondering about the crowd this year too, I am one of the 'short girls' who need to stand at the front in order to see the band. I may lose my nerve this year so wondered where else the short girls can stand? Usually I am holding on to the bar at the front and mostly manage to keep my spot.

I'm debating whether to grab a spot near the stage or by the rail on the 2nd level at Terminal 5. Anyone been there before? Any advice?

You should stand in front of one of the big burly men that you've smiled nicely at.

A few hours short of my usual ETA, but pretty good all the same.

Yes that's my other option, is that the rail that is on a raised level just off the main floor? I think I could see the band from there but don't want to be too far away either! It may be more comfortable than being right at the front.

Have you not got a big strong man whose shoulders you could utilise for a couple of hours? :D :D

I've always understood Girlfriend-On-Shoulders-For-Duration-of-Concert is universally meant to communicate "please throw empty drink cups at the back of my, and my girlfriend's, head." I haven't been wrong all this time, have I?

My husband usually stands behind me to make sure I don't get pushed over!
