William Elliott Whitmore was great at the Wiltern show this year. Somebody shouted for Johnny Law and he did it as the encore, which was completely brilliant and needs to get on an album ASAP. Crowd banter was great. I loved his bit about finding the drunken cop passed out in his dressing room, which somehow wound up with "fuck cops" as his conclusion.

Very personable, funny guy and loaded with talent. Anybody who doesn't like him is, oh, what's that word I'm looking for, uh, nuts.*

*That's hyperbole, but just barely.

The point is that as far as support acts go, Whitmore's the best.

Well, in Dublin we've had Mundy 2004, DKM in 05 and some crowd called Radiators from Space in 06  Can't remember 2001.

I thought they were pretty good at what they did, but didn't warm up the crowd very well.

That gig was my favorite of the reunions.

Starving Goliath in Philadelphia March 07.

Lame.

Don't think there was an opening act for the first DC night in 06 as it was a late show (another gig earlier there and they had to flip the venue).

I think 2004's support at Brixton was The Basement.

And I'd agree with Fr McGreer -- that was my favourite of the reunion gigs (so far...)

Saw Doctors supported the UK gigs last year (2006) apart from at Brixton, where we got Larrikin Love.

2005 it was Dropkick Murphys everywhere, I think.

I have a feeling that Seth Lakeman did one night at Brixton?

Are you sure about that? I thought at the time it was The Basement, though I recall I wasn't paying particular attention on the night. But I do remember there was some confusion about who it was... I seem to remember people on Medusa thinking it was The Basement...

A curious choice for support if ever there was one, but I seem to remember they went don't slighty better than Storm a few years before.
