Stay out of the mosh pit if you're over 40. I had weeks of pain after last St. Patrick's day show. Great fun though.

Too true dat. I'm only just recovered from Newcastle and Manchester, and I was stood well in the back at both shows (actually last row in the seats for Newcastle...not that anyone actually sat up there). This over 40 thing really blows sometimes.

I myself am 18, but I'm still hoping to wait in line and get up by the gate it's always nicer to be smashed against a gate then hundreds of people. I am contemplating the mosh pit though so I can come home with some stories but........?

Thanks!!!!

Yeah, stand right at the front and bring a sturdy person or two to stand behind you. Helps enormously if they too are Pogues fans. Then you'll all have a blast. :D

Interrupting?

Good lord, you're coming to Baltimore from Oregon? Hold that ticket, you probably won't have difficulty unloading it if you can't get someone to go with you.

Yeah Oregon to Baltimore crazy I know. I missed the Seattle gig, I was completely bummed. I almost spent all my money to go Ireland for Christmas but decided against it and lo and behold praise the lord I heard they were coming back to the US. I just couldn't miss it. I worked a shit hole job all summer and have finally found something worth spending a bit of the money on.

We Pogues fans are a simple breed, travelling folks we are. I say have fun and enjoy, I unfortunetly will not be able to attend the gigs again this year, just can't seem to be able to take leave.

It's quite a journey, but well worth it I believe. I've been lucky enough to see The Pogues the last two years (2006 in Atlantic City and 2007 in Philadelphia) and I've had a marvelous time at both shows. My girlfriend, who only learned on The Pogues last year saw them with me in Philadelphia (the show journey was beyond worth it kids!) last year and she is hoping and praying that they come to Philly again this year. We just can't afford to leave the state for a concert.

Yes...it's just the little matter of announcing the date and venue which has some of us turning blue.

I'm still hoping they decide not to take the night off on 3/17.

That Philly show WAS well worth a trip. Frances, oops, I mean She Who Must Not Be Named, flew quite a distance (from CA I think), and was rewarded by having Philip dedicate "Thousands" to her.

My clan only had to come down from central PA, but we ice-skated the whole way.

We're just south of Philadelphia (Delaware County) so we had a much shorter journey than you and yours, but we too ice skated the entire way.

its weird that many bands are skipping philly nowadays. the last time the band came to philly was the weekend before my wedding and the evening turned into a second bachelor party. if theres no philly date ill be traveling to NYC, might as well do a double header anyways now that i am thinking about it...
