Two questions about the RDS Dublin

Post Fri Nov 30, 2007 1:42 am

1) Do you have to get in early to get a wrist band for the pit, like The Point. Or is it free standing?

2) What order are the Holloways and Blood or Whiskey playing, who's first up?

1. I'd say it will be the same as the point. Every gig in Ireland in a biggish venuse seems to be the same.

2. At a guess I'd say Blood or Whiskey.................just a guess though.

I was hoping that B or W would be up after the Holloways. They deserve a decent crowd. They're the better of the two supports.

According to Spider on the UK Tour thread, it's only Blood or Whiskey playing! Suits me!

Just wondering, was The Point already booked for another event? Or did The Pogues fancy a change for the Dublin venue?

The Point is undergoing renovations at the moment. Making it bigger, etc.

And could you see yourself going to an OUTDOOR gig in DUBLIN in DECEMBER???

And don't reply.............yes if it was the Pogues cause that goes without saying. 8)

this will be my first pouges gig. just a few questions.

1. how long do they generally play for.

2. is there a rough set list anywhere.(from past yers or whatever)

3. have they ever played the rds before, will it be a good venue, when i heard it was the rds i was a bit disapointed, would have thought somewhere smaller would be more appropriate, whats peoples opinion on this.

thanks for the help.

We played the RDS Main Hall in June 2002. It's OK, but of Hobson's Choice, I prefer the Point.

I am still seeing posters around Dublin city, though newspaper advertising appears to have stopped. This indicates to me that there are definitely tickets left, but not so many that it would be wise to try to pay on the night.

The RDS main hall is standing,no seats as far as i recall. Also there are lots of annoying poles throughout the hall that would give one a "restricted" view,so get there early. I was at the pogues gig there in 2002, with the proclaimers and the saw doctors opening i believe....
