Brixton 20th Dec: no Chevron - no third show?

Post Mon Sep 03, 2007 9:03 pm

At first there was also confirmed a show at the brixton academy on thursday the 20th. This show isn't confirmed on the ticketmaster website neither on the brixton academy website.

Will there be a show on the 20th of december in the brixton academy and is that for sure that there will be a show, or is this also dependent on the sales for the first two shows?

This is quite an important question for me and I think also for other fans, because today I was planning the trip to London with flights and hotel, when I couldn't find the date of the 20th dec. in Brixton.

I hope someone can clarify this and can confirm or not that there indeed will be a show on the 20th of december in the brixton in London!

Im in a similar situation with this, it wasn't advertised in in the papers over the weekend with the other shows which made me think (wrongly maybe..) that it would only happen if the other 2 shows sold out.

What are at this moment the expectations for a third show on thursday in the Brixton Academy? Exactly this will be my only oppurtunity to see the pogues this december, so I'm very curious if this show will be planned or not, when it will be planned I will immediately block that the date in my agenda and plan the flight and stay in London.

I hope someone can give any information about the expextations of this third gig in Brixton.

Thank you in advance....

All anyone can give you, including me, is guesswork at this point. And there is only precedent to inform that. The precedent is we have never NOT done the 3rd show at Brixton, but caution dictates I warn you there's always a first time.

The upshot being if your going to the other 2 shows get your arse in gear and get the tickets bought so they sell out 8)

More accurately, the 3rd show is usually added once the promoter has estimated that the tempo and urgency of ticket sales on the first two shows indicate they WILL sell out or will ALMOST sell out. This is why it's always worth checking availability for Pogues tickets at all multiple-show stands, even quite close to the gigs. Believe it or not, some tickets do actually get returned from ticket agencies unsold. These are always the ones that then get re-released for sale "on the night".

Brixton Academy 21st December

Post Wed Oct 10, 2007 5:16 pm

Does anybody know if there's going to be any extra dates announced or shall I book the Thursday. It wouldn't be Christmas without a few extra nights.

Who's supporting at Brixton?
Sorry Shane, I didn't quite catch that....

If there is a third night at Brixton, we'll probably come to that.
Otherwise it'll probably just be Brum.

Although there's a slim chance we could do the 18th at Brixton. Very slim, but not absolutely Size Zero.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Then let´s hope for a third night, or the slim chance for the 18 th.

Hope to have the chance to "have a pint with you sir" :D

Pogues Brixton Thurs 20 Dec

Post Thu Oct 11, 2007 9:26 am

Are the Pogues playing on Thurs 20th Dec in Brixton or not? Phil's given us the date but I can't find any other information - Ticketweb etc. If this date is going to be added does anyone know when tickets will go on sale?

cheers

Hoping so, SJFSTBF. Lend me ten pounds an' all that.

I have never, never, never been so disorganised about sorting out my tickets for a Pogues gig.

Annoying thing is, I'll be in London on the 19th, but we'll be over at the O2...
