That's shit Mick. I take it you didn't send them by registered post? Something similar happened to a friend of mine about a year ago with soccer tickets and he had to give a refund in the end. What's his feedback like?

Private feedback :x

Seems a He Said/She Said situation. You can either take their word that the tickets never arrived and refund all. They can take your word that they were sent and eat the cost. Or you can offer a 50/50 split such that neither of you is entirely screwed.

In the future - registered mail, or a shipping service with built-in tracking. Insurance isn't a bad idea either.

I'd agree with Paddy R. C. I'd say he's chancing his arm. Anyway, thousands of tickets now available on Ticketmaster.

Well I mailed wonderland that I want them to cancel the tickets and that I'll pick them up at the box office. That might work. Otherwise it'll be the 50/50 cost thing I guess

Well yes, you say that, but I am currently embroiled in an eBay issue. I won an original Philips label copy of David Bowie's eponymous second album (the one best known as "Space Oddity") at some significant cost. I didn't receive the album but I genuinely have no reason to believe the seller did not send it. When he spoke to the Post Office, they swore they had delivered it - on a day I wasn't actually at home - but conceded they did not have my signature to back this up. And there was I thinking that was the entire point of registered/signed for mail.

I didn't actually say that these things guarantee success - just that they can help minimize the He Said/She Said problem.

If there's proof the item went into the postal system, and proof that it didn't come out of the postal system in a standard way, then both buyer and seller can be somewhat comforted that it's neither of them screwing the other and can instead focus their ire and mutual disgust on The Behemoth.

Ditto (And no, I havent actually used the registered, insured, etc. Always too cheap to do it.)

Lads, is this thread about the Belfast gig or a chit chat about one unfortunate ebay incident? Sorry about the ticket hassle Mick.

I previously asked a valid question about this being the most eagerly awaited and intimate gig on the tour, that now seems to have been hijacked by the promoters not happy that it sold out.

They've moved it to a venue almost twice the size.

Will they sell thousands of tickets this week? I fucking hope so, but doubt it.

Yer agree totally, it will not be as good in a bigger venue and we bought tickets for the Nugent Hall, it's not really on but there is nothing you can do about it, i know it's not everyones idea of watching a gig but i get as close to the front as i can and it doesn't really matter how big the venue is, i'm having my own private show with a few hundred people

Yes, but we all know the band feed off the atmosphere of a packed gig. Look at the reviews from Nottingham this year compared the the jammed gig in Manchester.

I DJ in a pub for students midweek, a kind of Death Disco affair (loads of indie and classic jems). The buzz is electric when it's packed, the crowd are more up for it and I thrive on their reaction to the songs I play. Even if the crowd is only 20% down it's impossible to recreate that intensity. It must be the same for the Pogues.
