I'm going, as long as I can get tickets, which I'm pretty sure I will.

It will be my first time in Belfast, the only pub I've heard of in Belfast is The Crown, don't know what it's like though.

I'm pretty certain everyone will aim for the Crown or Robinsons (sp?). After that, it's a question of whether you've left yourself enough time to cram in and get served.

A good thing to keep in mind before going Pre-Pogues drinking in Belfast,or for that matter drinking anytime in Belfast-ESPECIALLY the Crown bar is that they have a VERY STRICT no "football shirts/jerseys" rule. In other words they don't want their customers wearing what would be perceived as "sectarian" garments (for example celtic jerseys) in their establishment. So be warned,if you plan on visiting the crown and you're wearing a jersey or football shirt you will not get served.

Indeed, an excellent point to keep in mind about Belfast in general. They've had 40 years of that shit, I'm sure they'd prefer if you didn't bring it with you.

This actually happend to me in Glasgow 2004   i was weraring my Pogues Celtic shirt after the first gig and we wen´t out to have a bite to eat, me and my sister. we got to an resturant, not a fancy one but quite regular in the city, and i was weraing a jacket over the celticshirt. when we had got our drinks and was about to eat the satff came up to us and told us to leave or take the shirt of since they didn´t aloved any fotball coulors in there "bar,Restaurant".
I was shocked and took the shirt off but if it had happened today i would never have done it, i would just have left the place never to return again, wich i havn´t done to this day anyway but noone shall tell me what to wear and NOT to wear. Especially if it´s a Pogues shirt 8)

or you could head to Tatu slighty further down the lisburn road (1/2 mile from the Kings Hall) and annoy all the toffy noise twits there with your drinking and pogues shirts :)

Now that would be FUN

Agreed and to be honest far be it from me to turn up in a city thats had years of Shit and provoke people with my English accent and Celtic Pogues shirt- I don't have a deathwish- my Medusa Shirt for me -suggest we all do the same. The amount of times people have approached me about my Celtic shirt and i have to say its A pogues shirt not a football shirt and thats in Birmingham, no Glasgow and Belfast are 2 places i would not walk around with a Celtic or Rangers type shirt on - anyway i'm a Villa fan for fucks sake !!

like i already said, theres plenty of places where its perfectly acceptable to wear a Celtic shirt. City centre pubs its not alright and rightly so as in belfast its a recipe for disaster, though to label wearing a Celtic shirt as "that shit" is a bit derogatory as most people who wear them are not out to cause bother. Anyway, Lisburn Road is full of good bars. May i also suggest the Bot which isnt too far from the venue

I have to say I'm up here at queens and I think the Bot is shit. Firstly its very anglo and the crowd is basically 80% assholes and some of the bartenders overcharge
