From what I remember the Crown isn't that big to meet in. It has more private booths that take up a lot of space.

Maybe that would make it easier to find everyone. :D

before hand

Eveyone is talking about the crown bar and you cant get into it!? The hatfield bar is the place to go before hand, its a 5minute taxi ride to the kings hall from here. Its probably the most irish pub in belfast full og celtic shirts, and live irish music all the time.
Heres there website http://www.thehatfield.com/

Hatfield

Heres an extract from the Hatfield website of the band which may play in the hatfield before pogues hopefully!!!

The music of The Rapparees is essentially Irish folk however the band uses its own brand and style in conjunction with that of numerous influences right from the Clancy Brothers through to the Pogues.

second thoughts on the Crown

Post Mon Nov 12, 2007 10:50 pm

Never be unprepared, so I was in Belfast the other day to do some field work prior to the real thing.
The Crown, which I, among others, suggested earlier, is sure worth a look at, but not a great place to meet, it's quite small really, with private booths like trains used to have in the old days.
Anyhow, making myself probably even more unpopular than I seem to be already, I didn't think much of either Belfast or Dublin anyway. I much prefer the Irish countryside, the coastal areas in particular.

I'll probably get there around 4.30, but don't let that stop the rest of you guys getting there earlier.

I'd say anything in downtown Belfast is walking distance, the center of town is not that biggish really
