Looks like it, all we need to do now is decide on a place to meet.

A bit tricky as most of us haven't been there before.

there is this famous pub everyone who has ever been in Belfast is supposed to have been to

as most of us are there first time, and for one evening only, we might as well consider meeting in that place

forgot the name though, have to check it

anyway, I'll be in Belfast in early November too, and lucky enough to catch Black 47 on stage there, so I can do some field work

probably the most famous bar is the Crown Bar in Great Victoria Street facing the Europa Hotel

Is that the one you are talking about, if not any hints and I'll try to find out (since I live in Belfast)

Black 47 play:
Belfast November 9
Dublin November 10
Wexford November 11

I wasn't aware of that when I booked flights for a 10 day trip of Ireland, November 1-10, but only found out later I was lucky enough to squeeze in one gig

did you read this great book by Larry Kirwan?

Crown Liquor Saloon, my guide says,

are you planning to go see Black 47 on November 9th?
they play in RoddyMcCorleyCentre

maybe this leads to yet another Belfast-meet ??

Do you know if The Unity Squad will be playing with Black 47 (Deccy McLaughlin, Gary Og, Damien Dempsey, Cruncher etc?) Damo is playing in Galway around that time.

Hey guys

I've given you all details I know ..

The point is that the link to RoddyMcCorleySociety given on Black 47 site doesn't help, that site doesn't even give e-mail of the place, so so far I've been unable to even get in touch about tickets

Maybe our friend who lives in Belfast can do some checking out ..??

and as to meeting, again I'd suggest The Crown but that is a 100% outsiders view informed by my small tourist guide only, for so far I've never walked the streets of Belfast

let me hear from you ..

YES Bedrock is South Belfast :)

Its not the most murders in a European hotel.

The Europa is the MOST BOMBED hotel in Europe, slightly different. But not to worry, there hasnt been a bomb in Belfast in years now, so you all should be safe :)
