You would not believe how difficult it's turning out to be to sort out the tickets and access thing we need with Birmingham Academy. They are a useless bunch there. ARGH!!!!  :(

Fire, that's partly the reason why I've picked London over Brum - and London's £12 cheaper from Bristol.

If you're after a decent boozer, The Dubliner by Digbeth Bus Station always did me well - unless it's been converted into bloody flats!

It's about the same distance from here to either Brum or Brixton, Jon. We've been to both in the past, but had decided to go to Brum this year because the date works out better (being on a Sunday helps). The last time we were going to the Brum Academy (in 2004 I guess?), the people there were really helpful. This time round they have been completely rubbish thus far.

So I'm being sorely tempted to give up and opt for Brixton instead. Except we really need the third night on the 20th for that to be possible...

my other reason for Brixton is I get at least 2 days off work

Lucky man. No way of taking time off work the week before Christmas, I fear. So Brixton, being on weekdays this year, would mean making the dash down after work... and back again the same night for work the next morning. Ho hum.

Its close to the venue, but as wwfc pogue said, the dubliner is no more, theres the Kerryman there as well, its the irish quater of Brum with the Irish center and several bars of that ilk, i allways end up in Scruffys just by the venue, its ok and its well handy, you can stay in there till the death, it will be busy but you'll be able to get a drink 20 times quicker in there than you will in the academy which is a great venue but geting a drink is like waiting for Villa to beat Man Utd, about 12 years by my reckoning, unless tonights the night- ,4/1 Villa but i digress
