Does anyone know if there are nightbusses in Manchester and Birmingham on a Saturday resp. Sunday night ?

And Birmingham as well, although I think they're more or less confined to the main routes. Here's a link to the Travel West Midlands bus info site:

I'm a bit geographically challenged when it comes to the UK, so I'd appreciate some help...

I might be in Telford 10th - 16th of December. Are any of the gigs that have been announced around that area? I am willing to travel, but not hours and hours on end.

Thanks :)

Well Telford is only about 30 miles from Birmingham, and the Birmingham gig is on 16th Dec so that is probably your best bet.

And you can get the train from Telford to Birmingham.

I live in Telford and will be going to Birmingham on the 16th and possibly Nottingham on the 14th.

Birmingham is only 30 minutes on the train, the only problem with the gig being on a Sunday is the time of the last train from Birmingham to Telford is normally around half past ten.

Let me know if you are going to be in Telford I might possibly be driving to Nottingham on the Friday, if I am you are welcome to a lift.

True. Last time we went to see The Pogues at Brum (a journey of under 100 miles), we investigated the possibility of travelling by train. Assuming we wanted to see at least half of the gig, we then had the choice of spending the night on the platform at either Birmingham New Street or Euston. I've just checked, and this year there's a development: the choice is between a night at Birmingham New Street or Nottingham Station. Lovely. M6 here we come...

Liverpool airport I can only fly to Belfast International, but if I go from Manchester I have a choice of Belfast City and Belfast International.

I'm not worried about price because it'll probably cost me about the same to get to either airport, which is really strange as Liverpool is obvously nearer.

Just trying to get my travel arrangements sorted out so as I know exactly what I'm doing.

George Best would be "Best",and i refuse to apoligise for the bad pun!
Oh and yes the Dublin-Belfast Enterprise train takes about 2 and a half hours,if you're on a budget the bus from Dublin-Belfast costs a lot less then the train, and there is an express bus which gets you there in about 2 hours straight.

Pardon me for being a thick scouser but which one is George Best Airport?

Thanks a lot, that sounds just great, wolvespogue! :D I'll get back to you as soon as I know more. Oh, you're not registered here, will be hard to send you a PM then. Hm, the 16th is Sunday and thus the final, but hey, I'm not likely to get tickets for the final anyway.
