surely any venue can be made brilliant by th presence of the greatest band ever! who cares if they're playing in a school gym, wild horses couldn't keep me away!

"They turn bars into arenas and arenas into bars."

I can't remember who said it first - it might even have been me - but it seems to remain true, for the most part.

For fucks sake man- the best Pogues gigs i have ever seen have been here- loosen up get down the front and have a ball- it might be a dump but its a great live venue -more intimate than them warehouse arenas- can't believe you don't love it here, then again maybe you've never had the pleasure

Well said RS&TL the accadamy is a dump but depending on what sort of bands you like, and to be fair the Pogues in there heyday would be that sort, then the accadamy is the perfect place much better than a tarted up assembly hall like the NIA

Here, my friends, is a classic example of "you just can't please all the people all the time" syndrome, as anyone who begged us to go back to Academy (instead of the Birmingham sheds) will know.

I do agree with you, Mr C. I just wish the Academy would sort out their access arrangements and ticketing. It's not the most wheelchair-friendly of venues. And trying to get a "disabled access" ticket from there is like being in The Crystal Maze. Without Richard O'Brien. Useless people they are.

Let me know if there's anything practical me (or Ross) can do if you continue to have trouble from them. I'm sure you will already have reminded them of their legal obligations.

Thanks, Mr C. I'm still nagging away trying to sort it. I'll be in touch to let you know.

Ordered my tickets from the Glasgow Academy about 3 weeks ago, haven't recieved them yet. Do they wait closer to the gig to send them out, or what?

Let Victoria decide that for you now

I think this might be one of the most international gigs in years by the way
