Places to stay in Seattle

Post Wed Aug 15, 2007 2:07 am

Hi.

Anybody have any suggestions for cheap places to stay in stumbling distance to the Fenix? Hotels or hostels with private rooms. As we are a grad student & an on-strike city worker, cheap is the key word here.

Cheers.

too bad your budget won't allow for the infamous Edgewater http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/mudshark.asp

Let's also get Neil and Steve together for a meet up!

Picked it up from Philip actually. He had on the sweatshirt when I met him in Chicago. Went right home an ordered one myself!

Yes, indeed, let's get together for a pint or two!

As for hostel options, it's a pity this place just closed (ironically, on St. Paddy's Day of this year). It looked like a quality place with a great location. http://www.hiseattle.org/

I'm only going to the 17th. We get into Seattle around 1:00pm, we'll check into our hotel and then be ready to hang out. Going gallery hopping the next day and then home early evening the 18th. As I've said before, you are always welcome in San Diego! We have quite a big group for the SD show and a GREAT meet up place already.

If you don't mind hippies these places are pretty good:

http://www.greentortoise.net/

There is also one in SF and from what I have heard they are clean and usually less than a hotel room....

Can't wait for this show :D

.. and their food looks great. thanks for the suggestion. but my better half does enjoy having a private bathroom, so it looks like we're booked at the fab 2-star King's Inn, for US$99/night, as opposed to US$77/night for a private room at green tortise. right in the same neighbourhood, pike place market. ah, how well i remember the smell of military tear gas in pike place market a few years back...

anybody else looking for a cheap bed in downtown, here it is:

Kings Inn

Post Mon Aug 27, 2007 8:55 pm

it is a little more pricey, i found rooms for $150-- but it's definitely closest as far as "stumbling distance" goes
