Who will play the guitar by the forthcoming gigs?

Post Mon Aug 06, 2007 5:58 pm

First of all I want to wish Philip Chevron all the best for his recovery and I really hope we will see you at the christmas gigs!

Till now I haven't read anything about the forthcoming gigs in Sweden and Belgium and the question who will play the guitar at those gigs. I realize that Philip Chevron cannot be replaced, but the Pogues without a proper guitar player is also something that I cannot imagine. Who will the play the guitar during the absence of Mr. Chevron?

I do actually know the answer to this question but am unfortunately, unfamiliar with the gentleman's full name. So I await the correct answer from a fellow band member soon come. In any event, Mr Chevron wishes The Current Guitarist all the very best on landing the best job in the Showbusiness. Walk tall.

It is a shame that Joe Strummer isn't alive today to fill in for Philip, brings back the old days. But hey, best of luck to this new guitarist and hopefully he has a great time on the tour.

We'll be using James Walbourne on guitar until Phil is able to resume his proper place.

Judging from Philip's somewhat cryptic response I was sure it was going to be Buckethead. Good thing it isn't. The PETA people would've gone nuts. Get better soon, Phil!!!

Very disappointed in the choice. I mean, after the performance on the Henry Rollins Show, I thought it would be logical to have Joey Cashman.
He can't play the guitar any worse than the tin whistle, can he??

All kidding aside good luck to Mr. Walbourne. Can anyone post some
more background on him? I know he hooked up with a MA group the Pernice Brothers, but that's about all I can find. Thank you.

Looks like he has joined the ranks of Myspace enthusiasts.
