I´ll have a gues that Flogging Molly never going to be the support act for our beloved Pogues. due to previus comments

Damn! You beat me to it.
I'm thinking Filthy Thieving Bastards will be somewhere in the mix.
What kind of fuckery is this?

Can I recommend a band that have been listed to play at the Doubledown Saloon in Vegas a couple of times - Attack of the Motherfuckers. They are probably rubbish, but deserve a chance on their name alone!

Who's opening?

Post Sun Jul 22, 2007 6:00 am

So, any thoughts on who might open for The Pogues in Seattle? A perfect fit would be Amadan. Just a stone's throw away in Portland. A pretty good following in Seattle too. Check them out at http://www.amadanusa.com/index.php

I hope the Filthy Thieving Bastards are there for support. I was at the 2 Fillmore shows last time that they didn't play.

It's nice to see how well Amadan are doing. I remember one of their first shows at the Kell's in Portland, and then they subsequently played at my friend's wedding (the one with the mead). A delightful bunch of chaps, although at the time getting everyone kitted out in a white button-down and black trews seemed a challenge.

Any chance you need an opener in Seattle.......
I already have tickets but.......... I suppose I could donate them to a home for wayward girls.

Any word on who will be opening the Seattle show? I would love it if it was another celtic band....but maybe something a little more traditional than Dropkick..

Seattle show

Post Sat Aug 25, 2007 1:22 am

The only two in Seattle that come to mind are Whiskey Galore and Jug of Punch.

http://www.myspace.com/whiskeygalore & http://www.myspace.com/jugofpunch

Whiskey Galore'd be a good fit, I think, Jug of Punch is pretty much straight up trad/folk.

The Filthy Thieving Bastards' Myspace page says they're playing the Fillmore on Oct. 22 and 23, but the currently announced Pogues shows are the 21st and 22nd ... so either they're adding another date or the page listing is screwed up.
