Not that it matters cos the best band in Christendom are already there but I was just curious...

The Wolverhampton Express And Star Newspaper web site are only giving details on the headlining acts, Saturday = Michael Flatleys Lord Of The Dance ? and Sunday = The Pogues.

I think its an amusing line up. Two very different celtic shows! I wonder how many people will go to both days...

Thanks wolvespogue this link works but tickets are yet to go on sale- YYEEHHAAAA 8)

Its the same company who are selling them via the http://www.burntwoodwakes.co.uk web site, they have already taken £24 out of my bank account.

It looks like there is some confusion on the http://www.burntwoodwakes.co.uk web site link, I have just contacted them and the tickets that are currently on sale are for a separate gig for The Bootleg Beatles on 12th August 2007 and The Pogues tickets are not on sale yet, I am trying to get the one I have ordered transferred over, so I am sorry but the information I gave on price of tickets being £24 might not be correct, http://www.ticketstogo.co.uk will be selling the tickets.

A hard days night for wolvespogue

This is quality news, right on the doorstep - and not a million miles from the scene of my first Pogues gig at the Central Park Night Club in Burton-on-Trent (if anyone recalls it).

For interested folk - Tamworth is on Lichfield's doorstep and in general offers cheaper accommodation (and more pound shops).

This website seems to be working now: http://www.burntwoodwakes.co.uk/urcevent/sunday.htm

No info about ticket purchase or prices on there, as far as I can see.

And it's very easy to click on something unsuspectingly and find yourself on the Lord of the Dance website. So beware.

The thought of Lord Michael Flatley and Shane sharing the same camper van dressing room is a wonderful image

Perhaps if the Flatley crowd were asked nicely, they'd stay on a day and do some dancing to The Pogues...

I don't think Mr Flatfeet has actually appeared in "Michael Flatley's Lord Of The Dance" since its very first performances - it's a franchise. Those with long memories will recall that Flatley's opposite number Jean Butler danced with the Pogues and the Chieftains at Brixton Academy, three or four years before "Liverpants" made her the international star the combined might of the two bands could not.

Butler made such an impression on the lads that, to this day, nobody can remember whether Flatfeet also danced at this show.
