Thanks to "The Great Guy" @ The Orpheum

Post Tue May 01, 2007 12:00 pm

A little late I know, but I wanted to give heartfelt thanks to the Great Guy at the Orpheum who overlooked my and my girlfriends lack of sate issued ID and allowed us to buy a few pints at the show. I'm not a young 'un (34) so you can imagine how my heart sank when the vendors said they would accept my Ontatio drivers lic or Canadian Passport as proof of age, as the rules were MA issued ID only. I almost cried! Can't have a pint at a Pogues show!?! Are you joking.

Anyway, the pointed me in the direction of the man in charge and he lookd after us for the rest of the night. Thank God.

Another great time in Boston!

Cheers all, hope to see you again next year!

How ironic, you can't buy a drink...but if you want an AK47 or an Uzi yeah you'll do.

You're a lucky girl Marianne- looking ten years older than your age, you've never had this problem. :)

i'm 33, a bit greying, some lines around my eyes, and my widows peak has just started to receed, and i've just been feeling old & stressed out & tired for the last few months. i went to a show the other week, and the doorman asked me for ID. i was so flattered and happy, i told him he was so sweet for asking, as my friends laughed at me. he said "would it help if i asked for your number?" i told him it might.

weird policy there, tho. i've never had a canadian passport turned down anywhere in the US as legal ID.

I rarely if ever get ID'ed. The fact that I am 20 is neither here nor there.
