More Ticketmaster problems with 3/14 cancellation

Post Sat Mar 31, 2007 5:18 pm

I got on to let people who bought tickets with a credit card through Ticketmaster to check their statements carefully!

I requested a refund by phone on the morning of 3/15, as I was unable to attend the 3/15 or 3/17 show. I got my refund credited to my account within a few days, but just got my monthly statement and see that they re-charged the same amount on the same day. I called to ask about this, and they are claiming that I requested tickets for the 3/15 show and thus I should not have received the credit. Although I imagine I will ultimately prevail (I've already lodged a dispute with my credit card company while Ticketmaster "investigates" my complaint), I think this is the end of my ever going through Ticketmaster. I have had nothing but poor experiences with them and have already spent 2 hours on the phone dealing with their mistake/thievery. If I have to go out of my way to buy tickets directly from the venue's box office, then so be it. Based on the previous poster, it would seem Ticketmaster is trying to avoid refunding anybody's ticket!

Ticketbastard is evil! I am also having trouble with the refund of that show. Although I HATE using them, I have no choice. They have a monopoly. Overcharge & underserve is their motto.

These people make me really fucking angry. It's not like they don't already make huge profits. Competence please!

I had an interview once a few years ago at the ticketmaster corporate office in New York. It was by far the dirtiest office I have ever been in - everybody in there looked pissed off - that place is pure evil. I didn't take the job - I couldn't imagine working in that place....

I still didn't get a refund for the 3/14 gig, it sucks. I wish I could have seen you guys that night, make it up to us and come back next year again! Pogues are by far my favorite band. Saw you last year in AC and NYC my first times but have been listening to you since i was 3. Unbelievable shows. I'm in an irish band in Philly that covers a lot of Pogues. http://www.myspace.com/thebareknuckleboxers
Hope to see you guys back next year, In Philly. Peace, Brendan.

Ticketmaster Refund for 3/14/07 Roseland Show

Post Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:15 am

I originally posted this on the Cancellation thread. Hope this helps:

Great difficulty in obtaining refund from Ticketmaster for cancelled 3/14/07 Roseland show. Initially, I was told by a Ticketmaster representative on
3/15/07 that my refund will be processed automatically.
On Friday 3/23/07, I contacted Ticketmaster to check the staus of my refund and was told that the event was closed and no refund would be issued because the event was not cancelled but rescheduled to the 15th.
I read the cancellation notice given out that night at Roseland and was told that they would try to get me a refund but no guarantees (something about a ticketmaster loss). It was only after I mentioned that this was unaccepatable and that I would be contacting the Attorney General of New York, after that I was told (after checking with a supervisor) that my refund would be processed and the money was back in my account yesterday.
Hopefully, all got their money back and if not, fight Ticketmaster on this.

Don't take no for an answer. They will try to tell you that the event is closed and that it was rescheduled for the 15th (which was an already announced show). Fight for your refund and play hardball.

Good Luck
