how do electronic tickets work?

Post Fri Mar 16, 2007 1:53 pm

Due to cancelled show on Wed, I have had to refund my tickets and now want to purchase some for Saturday. Can't trust overnight shipping, especially with the weather so I might do an ebay bid for electronic tickets.

How do they work? Print them out and just show them at the door? How are they checked for authenticity? Please bolster me with confidence before I purchase these!

Thanks.

It's no big deal, I've used them several times when I didn't have time to mail tix. They e-mail you a PDF. You print the document (aka your ticket). The document has a bar code on it. They scan the bar code at the door and hand the paper back to you. Voila, you're in!

As long as you don't give anyone else a copy of the PDF you should be fine. I assume only the first person to show them that bar code would be allowed in so you can't print up 20 copies and invite all your buddies

I've never been IDed with tickets unless it was for age verification.
