If anything can be taken from all of the back and forth on the message board it is that clearly, despite what many have expressed, The Pogues give a shit about their fans a lot more than most bands. Mr Chevron's constant updates attest to that. While last night's cancellation was unfortunate - I myself was there and am now unable to go tonight- things happen in life. Many who have been complaining are the same people who revel is Shane's antics far more than in his talent. There were years and years of bitching that The Pogues were absent and now bitching about this. Sure people were inconvenienced and have every right to be disappointed but disappointment and pissing and moaning are very different things.

Cheer up everyone - a few years ago who would imagine that The Pogues would be back.

I know a person who walked around on a broken leg for nearly two weeks. And then went to a doctor only because it was a chance to avoid a birthday party. So what are two days?

I suppose thats my instinct. If i see a man in a ziggy shirt tonight, I'll make sure to collapse on him on my heart attack, thus causing his knee damage. now thats a plan. Quite true, Zuzana. In my brother's younger days, he went to see the Rolling Stones. Started out with a seat in the balcony, ended up in the 5th row. Came home limping a bit but otherwise happy. About 10 days later, my mother happened to glance at his bare feet and saw that one foot looked strange. Turned out he had two broken bones.

(Given all the problems Shane's had with his legs over the years, my guess is that simply being in pain wouldn't have been enough to make him think something was wrong and therefore prompt him to seek help.)
