in my haste to fimally post something, my original username was rejected as a duplicate, so I simply put the best football team with one of the best bands on earth together

I second that comment about Philly fans getting the wrong end of the stick
we are true fans in this area, everyone in the league knows that

"and its Philadelphia.............Philadelphia Eagles
We're by far the graetest team
the world has ever seen"

can't wait for tomorrow night

If anything can be taken from all of the back and forth on the message board it is that clearly, despite what many have expressed, The Pogues give a shit about their fans a lot more than most bands. Mr Chevron's constant updates attest to that. While last night's cancellation was unfortunate - I myself was there and am now unable to go tonight- things happen in life. Many who have been complaining are the same people who revel is Shane's antics far more than in his talent. There were years and years of bitching that The Pogues were absent and now bitching about this. Sure people were inconvenienced and have every right to be disappointed but disappointment and pissing and moaning are very different things.

Cheer up everyone - a few years ago who would imagine that The Pogues would be back.

Thank you to Mr Chevron - you are true professional and a gentleman - and get well Shane.

If that were true you would be called Man United Bad Seeds :-)

I know a person who walked around on a broken leg for nearly two weeks. And then went to a doctor only because it was a chance to avoid a birthday party. So what are two days? :)

There is no such thing as curses, but there is such a thing as mean and innapropriate language.

Your own self-censorship confirms that you understand the issue.

ya know if we can keep this up for just 2 more hours, my work day will go that much quicker. Yes i understand that certain words may be inappropriate, but so was the statement of ziggy. I suppose thats my instinct. If i see a man in a ziggy shirt tonight, I'll make sure to collapse on him on my heart attack, thus causing his knee damage. now thats a plan. Nah, I'm just playing just don't need anymore negative vibes after what i had to go through last night.

I have had many private messages of support in the past 24 hours. I do not have the time to respond to them all, but you know who you are and I just want you to know I'm grateful.

And thanks Noel. You can never be too protected from superstition, my black cat always says.

Quite true, Zuzana. In my brother's younger days, he went to see the Rolling Stones. Started out with a seat in the balcony, ended up in the 5th row. Came home limping a bit but otherwise happy. About 10 days later, my mother happened to glance at his bare feet and saw that one foot looked strange. Turned out he had two broken bones.

(Given all the problems Shane's had with his legs over the years, my guess is that simply being in pain wouldn't have been enough to make him think something was wrong and therefore prompt him to seek help.)

Well, everything that needs to be said has been said ad infinitum but still, for the whiners out there...you amaze me. Have you no perspective, if nothing else? It's a goddam rock n roll show! One of the best you could ever see, no doubt, but still...

Tell you what, how about you switch places with a loved one of mine who's a Marine huddled in a sand pit in Iraq (for the third time)? 'Cause I think he'd much rather be in NYC out a couple hundred bucks with a few hours to kill in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.

Shees...

So good health to Shane, many thanks to Philip, good luck to the band and God bless the Pogues!!
