Regarding this post; "if they were at fault for their own crash... But playing devil's advocate here, how does it take days and an hour before their set to take stage to then cancel the show? I know there's the whole "I am cool because I don't care" idea on this board and that's fine if you want to live that way... But if Shane's health is at the center of everyone's concern why did it take till the time it did to decide "woooops, this is serious! Better cancel the show!"? For his health, does this concern you?"

Dang. Good luck to Shane, hope he gets well soon, BUT, in the interest of not fucking up everyone's plans, I hope someone with knowledge of the situation posts something about the remaining shows.

I can put up with the disappointment of not seeing The Pogues (maybe 'cause I already have), and I can even smirk and think about being at yet another infamous canceled Pogues event, but driving into the city, paying for parking through the nose and whatnot is annoying to the extreme.

So just let us know if you can.

Thanks and good luck the rest of the tour.

That actually happened to me once. On 215th and Broadway in upper manhattan I was on the bus heading to the Bronx, and someone was lying dead in the street. The police had the bus stopped for 15-20 minutes and several people on the bus were pitching a fit because they had to wait for this.

it's clear that there's a difference between a fan who has a ticket to a single show and is angry/disappointed when it's canceled unexpectedly, and the Pogue trekkies on the site who have tix to every show and are willing to excuse anything Shane does.

Shane's "professionalism"? Don't make me laugh. The guy exhibits every tendency of a self-centered, addled, substance abuser. Unfortunate, surely, that he broke his leg. But who of us would walk around on a broken leg for two days and then figure out that maybe something is wrong.

He let his band down. He let his audience down. And it ain't the first time. For some of you that's entertainment I guess.

first Lou from SOIA cancels them opening for the Murphys tom night in boston that i'll be at, now Shane when I have tix for all 3 shows and plus i'd be missing the tossers, unless since theyll be here, maybe the tossers will play somewhere in NY. Perhaps I should schedule a meeting w/ Mr. George W Bush.....
- I tried to take a late night piss but the toilet moved so again i missed

the bottom line is that the health of shane macgowan takes priority in this case

i know how you all feel as i was in a similiar situation back in 1994 when the popes/shane cancelled a gig in glasgow because he fell and broke his hip, yes i was gutted but at the end of the day these things happen

i will say one thing, mr chevron is a 100% gentleman and he will keep you all informed of what is going on

good luck and get well shane ( my hero )

Not really - it just says "Stay tuned. . ." - I know he said they'll post something by 2 the latest and nothing any of us say or do can make this faster, but still. . .you gotta feel bad for the folks who are travelling for this show, waiting to hear before they hop a train or a plane or whatever.

Shit, if I wasn't IN Manhattan I'd be flipping out and posting too - I know it wouldn't make a difference, but it would still on some level make me feel better.

So shut up and let the honest posters looking for answers do their thing, eh? Attack the haters if anything.
