Roseland Ballroom's Beer Selection?

Post Wed Mar 07, 2007 3:04 pm

Does anybody know if they'll have Guinness on tap or in cans being poured into plastic cups like last year at Nokia. Hoping they have more than just Guinness too...

edit: yes, my priorities are all in the right place...

I never doubt the quantity at NYC clubs, but the quality is always a guess. $8 Guinness from a can is just a little hard to swallow (yes, the horrible pun was intended).

When faced with the $8 guinness in a can served with a plastic cup, what do you do?
Do you pour it into the cup which I think can somewhat affect the taste and makes me feel like I should look for the beer pong table?
Do you suck it up and drink it from the can while Arthur Guinness rolls over in his grave?
Or do you find an empty guinness can and pour it from one into another and people look at you like you're nuts?

Hi-
I do not have the beers that we will have. Normally we have Bud/Bud Light
but I am trying to see if we are ordering anything special for that concert.

If you can email me on Friday with a reminder; I will hopefully know by
then.
Best,
Meredith

Hi-
I found out that there will be Guinness and possibly another Irish beer.

Best,

I mean YEAY!

And a boo...

I know it will come from cans but we also pour at bar so no cans are allowed on the floor. No idea about price.
Enjoy the show!

At least they're coming through with Guinness for us.Even at 8 skins,it's better than Bud.

Personally, I can't stomach paying $8 for more than 1 beer even at a pogues show. Just have to stock up before and after.

Just get a bit drunk before you go in and buy a couple of pints in there. Theres no point waiting till you get there till you drink and then start downing expensive pints. Or be a man and dont drink at all.

I refer you to Mr. Flann O'Brien:

When things go wrong and will not come right,
Though you do the best you can,
When life looks black as the hour of night -
A pint of plain is your only man.

When money's tight and hard to get
And your horse has also ran,
When all you have is a heap of debt -
A pint of plain is your only man.

When health is bad and your heart feels strange,
And your face is pale and wan,
When doctors say you need a change,
A pint of plain is your only man.

When food is scarce and your larder bare
And no rashers grease your pan,
When hunger grows as your meals are rare -
A pint of plain is your only man.

In time of trouble and lousey strife,
You have still got a darlint plan
You still can turn to a brighter life -
A pint of plain is your only man.
F yez all.

Right. Spend a few hours at a proper pub beforehand, bring some herbal refreshment with you to the show, and you'll only have to shell out for a couple beers inside the place. Works for me every time.
