STRAIGHT TO HELL

Mr. C & Senor Spider: Will "Straight to Hell" remain the warm up tune you guys come out too?
That tune gets the fucking blood pumping.

I would be beside myself with excitement if STH started playing, then the band came out and began performing it, the recording fading down.

At some shows last October Darryl and/or Andrew would sometimes start playing along with the track and it sound absolutely fantastic.

I saw three shows in December and it was incredible to hear the crowd sing along to "Straight to hell". This was defining the meaning of a "warm-up song".

The Pogues used to play Straight To Hell live when Joe Strummer was the lead singer - great song

It's a great opener. It was really strange not hearing it on the Sunday night at Brixton, after the infamous beer incident. Though totally understandable in the circumstances.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

So, as far as I know, it has been used as an introduction to the band coming on at every show since Strummer sang with teh band, except that one show at Brixton?
What kind of fuckery is this?

If you could play a fiddle, hows about a British jig and reel........

Still love that song, maybe a version of Joe and The Pogues playing it live might make the Box Set that Philip was talking about.

agreed. My band played that song when I was a kid, and I loved it then -- 24 years ago. 8)

I still haven't seen the movie. Blockbuster's online DVD rental is usually pretty good but they keep sending me the same damn DVD that's broken in half...

Yeah, when I saw them in SF in october, I was surprised to hear it....I'm also a huge Joe Strummer/Clash fan so it was cool to hear that nod to them.
