Has anyone heard anything concrete?

The band is on the road to Philly and expected to arrive around 5:00pm.

I imagine that we'll know around 5:00-5:30pm whether they made it. That's just a couple of minutes from now, so keep an eye out (and keep an eye on the weather too).

Not to be pessimistic, but based on when they left NYC, they're not going to hit here that soon - not with icy roads, poor visibility, and various and sundry idiots on the road. But not to worry - they gave themselves plenty of time.

Don't be a pessimist. Look at it as, hm, the glass half full... of snow and ice.

I've seen Shane w/The Popes at Electric Factory, I've seen The Pogues w/o Shane at
Trocadero, oh how I want to see both of them together tonight. I've waited a long
time for this....

to stop the whining for a moment, wouldn't it be good to hear The Pogues try some of
Shane's solo material from The Snake and Crock of Gold?

Who's whining? Not me. I'm optimistic that the show tonight will go on. Sure it'll be a pain in the arse to get there and back due to weather, but a Pogues show is worth it. I've been waiting to hear the good word, but I might just head out the door in bit to start making my way down to the ol' Electric Factory.

Well - Our normal window is Philip and his laptop. Who knows if he'll have brought it from NYC, and whether there's a network connection, and he has the time. Might well just be "Silence == Good News" (unless, of course, "Silence == Bad News").

Great Pogues show! Took your advise about going to Finnigans Wake before the show on the 16th. Great idea! Paddy's Well was awesome as they did a lot of Pogues stuff. I'll have to see where else they play.
