with or without Shane?

Post Fri Jan 18, 2008 10:57 pm

I know this rumor always is thrown around but a friend called me saying he heard on the news on Comcast Cable that Shane would not be on the NY shows. I got my tickets the second they were on sale. Last year I went to the Philly show and heard he wouldn't show but lucked out with the wheel chair appearance. I'm hoping this is just another rumor.

There should be a disclaimer on the site that says something like "Yes, Shane MacGowan is fronting the band unless otherwise noted, now shut up about it."

That is why they're called rumors because usually there bullshit. Your friend needs to get educated before he starts stating false statements. NO OFFENSE

In the interest of full disclosure, I was kidding. I'm just saying sometimes it seems like that's what it'll take to decrease the amount of times the question is asked.

Hello Dave,

Wrong thread for starters, but have you tried reading the Live Shows FAQ?

Good God, Dave, this is one of those questions that keeps each and every one of us awake at night, stretched to the limits of our paltry command of advanced philosophy. What, after all, do we really mean when we say "performing"? Isn't there a metaperformance level at which Shane can always be said to be "performing"? Hmm?

No, he will be joining the "Kings singers" for the annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.
