I heard that Shane passed away, rose from the dead and now works along side Elvis on the overnight shift at a 7-11 in East Lansing, Michigan. He traded in the suitcoat for a Tom Brady Michigan Wolverine jersey and recently broke a Guinness World Record by singing "Hail to the Victors" while downing a bottle of Tanqueray 10 in one gulp.
I think it's just a rumor, though.

Since the second coming of the The Pogues, Shane has done all of the gigs I have been to. Why should this be any different?

We're hoping not. There's a fair chance he'll be singing though.

I'm a bit late to this thread but I just wanted to say that made me piss!!!

Mr Chevron, you're number one invite for my fantasy dinner party. Fortunately as it's only a fantasy party you will never have to make your excuses.

In that case I accept your invite, thanks.

Why not be original and make a fantasy excuse :D

No, he is touring with Westlife at the moment so will be unavailable for The Pogues tour. When he is not with Westlife he is too busy managing Status Quo and looking after his chain of DIY stores to find time for anything as trivial as The Pogues. Plus, as everyone knows, he was sacked from the band in 1976 and has not been allowed to play with them since - this is enforced with a court order.

I hope that clears up the confusion.

I heard a rumour that he died in a car crash in 1966 and was replaced by a double and there have been clues in all the pogues songs since. If you play the Broad Majestic Shannon backwards whilst also whistling the 'Match of the Day' tune you hear the words Shnnneee ntttooo sssuuuggg whicih if you slow right down soundls like Shane not here Shane not here. Also on the cover of If I should fall from Grace with God Shane is the only one not wearing shoes. Also the real Shane had a scar above his lip and if you look now its gone. Also on the White Album................ or am I gettting mixed up wiht some other band here??

You know what? You'd have thought someone would have put this in the FAQ by now.

Shane will be there, just like hes been at all of them for the last 7 years or so.
