Electric Factory 21 and Over!

Post Mon Jan 22, 2007 9:14 pm

I just recieved this email:

Hello Pogues Fans,

If you are receiving this email it is because you purchased tickets to the 3/16/07 Pogues show at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA. We wanted to let you know that the show is age restricted to only 21 and over.

Thanks,

Matt/Artist Arena

I am very upset at this news, I am 19 and now have to go about getting a refund or something. I think it is unfair that this was not announced before tickest went on sale. I also purchased tix for both NYC shows, I hope I do not get a similar email to that effect!

Well, upon looking at Ticketmaster it now specifys that the show is 21+, but there was no indication with the pre-sale. I was hoping that someone with some type of authority can verify that the Roseland shows are all ages (Phil, maybe?) Hopefully Artist Arena will be understanding and refund my money. I really wanted to attend this show 15 minutes from my house and now I'm screwed.

WOW !. Where else would you get a famous " popstar" ( sorry phil ) taking time out to go see what the score is on behalf of fans . young artists could learn a load from guys like this . I remember as a kid the late joe strummer cancelling two gigs in GLasgow because the band werent told it was for " students only " at a university . This was on the actuall day of the gig as well . LETS HOPE TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND THE VENUE CONCERNED SHOW SOME COMMON SENSE HERE . In the u.k its usually 14 AND OVER , AND THATS WITH THE BARS OPEN !!!!! ( Though thats probably why Scotlands pogues audience are so pissed ) .lol.

Thank you so much Phil (I've been looking at the forum for awhile but just registered after I made this thread). It's amazing that a band member will actually take time out to find out something for me. I understand that venues make shows 21+ for many reasons, which is fine with me, but I just wasn't informed before I purchased tickets. Thank you very much though, and hopefully I will be seeing you and the band at least twice in March! :)

I'm going to the NYC show on the 17th, but was hoping to do a more sober run with my teenage sons in Philly on the 16th. Any help would be appreciated.

Get yourself a fake ID. It will be worth the hassle.

If anyone is looking to get rid of their tix for the Electric Factory show March 16 because the show is 21/over please e-mail me, I need at least 2 tix.

Also, is Shane performing at these shows?

I can't find the original thread, but I have just been informed there will be no Over 21 Only rule enforced at the Phildelphia show.
