The RDS website seems to confirm this:

http://www.rds.ie/home/eventfinder.aspx?eid=1228

It says the event is being held in the main hall, so it seems it is not outside.

Eight in the evening at the end of the year isn't a pretty place to be in the northern hemisphere...

Our Irish promoter booked these shows for us in December 2006 before we had even made the initial decision not to do the Christmas tour. But even now, with the tour possibly back in contention, these dates are only provisional. In fact, we're trying, if possible, to move Dublin to the start of the tour, in an attempt to fend off the routine complaint from non-Dublin fans that travel is problematic so close to Christmas.

The reason it's the RDS Main Hall (ie not outdoors) instead of the the Point is that the Point will be closed for renovation.

But hey guys, try not telling us where we are and aren't playing. I understand it's tempting to believe anything that appears on teh interwebs, but the only Pogues information that can reasonably be considered accurate and confirmed will always be on the front page of Medusa first.

they are going to play in Gothenburg, Sweden in ocktober, tickets will be sold for 1200 SEK (120 Euro), it was confirmed by a swedish paper from Gothenburg, and they will play only one concert I think... ;)

This is really awful to me.
I mean yes I will go and see them, they're playing a few blocks from my house. But I'd prefer if they didn't play here, I've been to Glasgow every year since 04, and it's my thing, it's my tradition and it would feel weird if they played here just before i went abroad to see them!
And I can't help thinking that a lot of people around here that doesn't "deserve"(i know i know) to see them, gets to see them without having to work for it or just because they have paid a lot of money to see some other probably crappy bands.
It all just makes me a bit sad.

Wow, you are overreacting even more than I did there.
I think it is fun that they are coming(except to that particular event), these are just personal feelings(and i pointed out they were selfish) and if you can't understand that you are a bit ridicoulos.
I probably won't afford going aswell and I will probably not get any friends to come with me to Scotland now to see them, so there is actually a chance this will keep me from going there.
Yes there ARE people that have got no money and I'm one of them, I probably will not afford both and neither loosing this years glasgow trip or sitting at home while they play a few hundred meters away will not be fun.
Neither would walking Rosenlund be.
Stop being oh so perfect.
By the way has other sources than the festival site and GP confirmed this gig yet?
