Thanks. That's what I get for being from over seas. Regardless of where they play, the wife and I are hoping to make the trek over there one year for a show or two.

We have petitioned our agent and promoter to get us a Vancouver show if we ever again play the West Coast of the USA, but honestly, that's as much as we can do. We're not the ones with the ten phones, multiple diaries and frantic calculators putting the near-impossible logistics of touring together.

No Kidding! Off tour, they are the managers of their own destiny! Each one has a cell in one hand, the other hand is on a calculator and somehow they are sending emails and posting to this forum ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!! heh.

Hmmm.... That's interesting to me. That's a big part of my job and the group I work with. We move people and information all over the place, and deal with unexpected contingencies. Maybe there is a career possibility here for me (not with the Pogues... I wouldn't be so bold as to suggest...) Just a few weeks ago I was proud to move six or seven people, loads of equipment, a bunch of data, and coordinate their communications packages, going into five different locations in the Mid-East and Central Asia. But then, I had a lot of help. Must be a big challenge planning and running a tour. Yup, I can see it in my future.... plan, train, equip, coordinate, plan, execute, facilitate, calm under pressure, overcome, decide, achieve, end.... get paid. I like it. :)
What kind of fuckery is this?

Our brilliant and unflappable tour manager Ross Duncan is, indeed, a former forces man himself.

December 2007

Post Fri Mar 30, 2007 6:10 pm

Well I haven't seen this anywhere else but then again, I haven't read all the fora so please excuse me if this has been posted elsewhere but...

A quick search on http://www.entertainment.ie revealed this:

http://entertainment.ie/cgibin/search.a ... &stype=AND

The Pogues appear to be scheduled to play the RDS on December 22nd AND 23rd this year - that's a Saturday and Sunday night.

So there. I don't know whether or not this info is correct - I'm sure one of the band will set me straight if not but I thought I'd pass it along anyway.

Peace & love,

John C.
