If Phil Chevron is browsing the Forum.........

Post Tue Dec 12, 2006 12:59 pm

As I said in the "Thank You Glasgow" thread I have been a long time browser of this forum but only posted for the first time today. Seen The Pogues approximately 50 times since 1987. Favourite band. Always have been and always will be.

I hope you do not consider this rude but my girfriend and I got engaged on Saturday and if you were to mention this from the stage tonight then it would make our Christmas more than you'll ever know. She is going tonight, as are ten or so of our close friends, what better way to start the celebrations?

Hope all you guys out there don't mind me making this request on the Forum.

Looking forward to another great show tonight.

Christopher.

Now that you're engaged, perhaps it's time to ask her what her name is?

Why bother about names ?

Thank you Niall.

Phillip, I didn't want to be presumptious, I know you have more than enough to handle in a two hour show without honouring requests from strangers from this Forum. Her name is Louise, everyone just calls me Chris, and if you can do this it would mean a lot.

Tonight's show is going to be extra special for us as the corresponding show last year was when things began to develop between us (we were friends beforehand) and this would just top it off.

Thank you very much.

It's conclusive proof that there is no occasion more romantic than a Pogues gig.
Congratulations to the both of you. :)

Congrats Chris. Maybe if the Pogues return to Vegas next year maybe you could follow in Spider's footsteps and get married out there during the tour 8) 8)

Thanks folks. Much appreciated.

For those of you that want to know, basically she realised around this time last year that she had feelings for me and I realised shortly after that I had feelings for her. I asked her out at the beginning of this year, she said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history.

There was a 'wierdness' that night, if you know what I mean, I guess it was the 'turning point', as they say, we waltzed around to Fairytale as mates but it was starting to feel different. We both hold that gig as being special and I guess we have came full circle with tonights.
