The schedule for most of the tour so far has been:

8:00 Opener
~9:15 Pogues

For anyone who cares, on night one, opening band at 8:30, and Pogues on at 9:40, played til 11:30.
Less moshing in the pit than there was in NYC - really none until "Sickbed."
LA ccrowds are passive...
great show though

Yep - The Wiltern shows seem to be scheduled a half hour later.

The lack of moshing, etc may have something to do with the signs on the doors to the main hall saying "No Moshing, No Crowd Surfing, No [fill-in-concert-thing-here]".

The Wiltern seems to have very strict security rules and enforcement.

Ah, living in a police state.
Well, the Wiltern is lovely historic landmark, so they do their best to keep it in good shape.

yeah but I don't think I've ever been to a show where the crowd was so loud and so many people were smiling. Other shows haven't been like that. I'd give up a moshing crowd for a happy, greatful I'm seeing the Pogues band anyday!

The venue is really nice. I like it a lot. And yeah - the crowd seemed to be having a fantastic time, including lots of bouncy dancing that did not involve a mosh pit (which to my grumpy middle-agedness is preferable to the mosh pit option).

I don't think I've moshed since Ministry at Lollopalooza in the early 90's. Personally, I've never really considered The Pogues to be a mosh-type concert. Certainly not like Dropkick Murphys or some other latecomers to the scene. I guess it's got a lot to do with my assumptions of the maturity of the fan base. Bear in mind there are always those folks who, after a couple beers, would mosh to Peter, Paul and Mary - but as long as it's not disruptive to the band or the other fans I say moe power to them. I seem to recall some scattered outbreaks of mosh-type movement at the Borgota in March during Sally MacLennane but certainly not a proper mosh pit. But then the Borgota did run out of beer...

You know, I prefer non-moshing as well. There was some moshing in NY in March; just pointing out a difference.

Thank you much sir, this means Ill be leaving in an hour after I feed my turtle and take a much needed shower.

Cant wait to see this again tonight, if anyone sees a blond headed guy with camo pants with a little bright red headed girl feel free to stop me and say hi, even though I am a newbie to the board, I have long been a lurker.

DId you have a young girl (maybe 6-8) on your shoulder last night? Toward the back, house right?

Darned cute, that. I was very annoyed they'd taken my camera. I wanted to try to get a shot of it.

No sir, unfortunately I could not afford to buy tickets to each night, so I only got to see the Grove show and the upcoming show tonight.

However, her on my shoulders may have to be an option tonight, you said the pit are was relatively peaceful correct?
