A The Pogues Concert in Stockholm would allure more than a few fans. It would be one of the biggest happenings we've seen since the eighties. Believe you me, The Pogues are beyond large in Sweden. We've a natural attraction to Irish music, perhaps because of it's sound, perhaps of it's soul, no one knows. We just love it. And The Pogues are beyond good. They're the best.

But before I die I'll add my regal scrawl
To show the world I'm left with sweet fuck all
And when all of us bold shithouse poets do die
A monument grand they will raise to the sky

Having been to all the Scandinavian countries, I've noticed their love of Irish music. Good on you all!

Pogues in Southeastern Europe(Serbia, Croatia etc.)?

Post Mon Jul 10, 2006 12:15 pm

Well these days tis much rush about EXIT festival (it ended yesterday)... there were bunch of people who are lets say famous but they're no choice of moine(not in the way oi loike Shaneo and Pogues) 8) Anyway here are some of the names who played at EXIT this year... Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, Pet Shop Boys, Billy Idol, The Cult, The Cardigans, Scissor Sisters, HIM, Chicks on Speed, Goldie (the list goes on and on...). SO, the BIG QUESTION is when can oi expect to see The Pogues, Shaneo and all ya great people here(doesn't matter if its a solo gig or at EXIT or anything else). Oi guess most of the blame goes for Serbian music managers who can't recognize or won't recognize the true potential and value of the bands(they invite some crap DJs, popular artistic ****** as Shaneo says, and names that are pop stuff famous-oi bet ya don't wanna hear what oi think about those pop music performers)... oi bet if smn who has enough brains around here, who would invite Pogues would have thousands and thousands of people who would come to the gig(oim 100% sure that many many people from surrounding countries would come as well... Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Hungary, Romania, Greece etc.). Is there a way for The Pogues to contact smn who can organize it all???

http://www.ryanair.com can fly you out of Balaton in Hungary on the 16th December for 997.47HUF and back again on the 19th for 27000HUF. With extra charges, taxes and fees the total cost is 38724.74HUF. Add approx £30 GBP for the concert ticket, I think this totals just 184 Euro! I'm sure you would pick up cheap accomodation at a Hostel, or even maybe a felllow Medusan with room to spare!

This way, should the rumour of the Pogues show on the 18th at Brixton Academy be true  , you'll be able to attend.

Must be worth you looking into for the chance to see The Pogues!

Yeah that would be great BUT its much more complicated...
First oi need a visa to get into England... getting a visa is loike a noightmare... waiting in front of ambassy, dozens of documents and oi think cheapest visa is loike 70 euros or so(if they give ya one)... then if oid manage to get that... oi can't fly from Belgrade but have to go Hungary first(that means oi need a visa to enter Hungary as well...) so oid have to pay for that+ oid have to pay a trip to Hungary where Ryanair is available... and of course oid need some amount of money for expenses in England as well...
Oi wish 184 euro is the total figure... its far far more than that :( Unfortunately living in a 3rd world country loike Serbia brings numerous problems, traveling abroad is just one of many
Oi plan to come, thats for sure anyway but considering the problems oi've listed... this year is not promissing at all :(

You could try the 'illigal immigrant' route! Just stow away on the back of container lorrys, and make your way towards the Channel Tunnel.

I can just see the headlines now.....

"Crazy Serbian punk with oirish accent, at loose in Brixton.....

Lock up your daughters!"

How bout catchin' the Donegal Express?
Ahoy, the headloines are noice, although oim not Serb so tis better:
"Oirish punk, who escaped the horrors of the 3rd world country of Serbia is now back at riding freely in Brixton...."
Don't lock up yar Oirish daughters, please
:D
or let me rephrase that with Shaneo's lyrics:

"Don't lock up your wives and daughters
Don't lock up your cats and dogs
I came down here
with my feet all bare
And I sleep in a hollow log.

Yippee I oh
Yippee I ay
Yodle odle ee
Yodle odle ay
Yodle odle odle ay."
